Warning, this review contain spoiler!

Interstellar is a masterpiece of Christopher Nolan that I can say as a sci-fi movie that’s different from the others. Starring Matthew McConaughey, Anne Hathaway, and Jessica Chastain, Interstellar brings a further experience to the audience to experience an inexplicable sci-fi movie. As always, Christopher Nolan always brought his own surprises in every movie. The most usual again, he also always carries the soundtrack that was delivered by Hans Zimmer as the soundtrack for this movie. They can both be said to be a legend that haunts Hollywood or maybe not.

“Interstellar,” tells a 60-year-old story from now where a human effort to find a plane that could become a new life for mankind. At that time, the earth has begun to no longer be inhabited by humans. Corn is the only food that can survive and the climate change that experienced the earth filled with pollution. But, corn’s in its critical time and will soon die. The last hope that humans have is to find another planet that humans can live in. Professor Brand (Michael Caine) along with his daughter is a NASA researcher who now works in private. What the most important things now is foods, gadgets, and smartphones. All the things especially that will be useless again. Children should be educated to become farmers because remembering food is almost extinct. At the time, NASA could only put that hope on Cooper (Matthew McConaughey) who was a former astronaut and worked back with his team in search of a habitable planet.

The first impression when watching this movie was initially confused what exactly this movie wants to convey. When the beginning of the first film scene, we will see the life of Cooper who looks casual with his two children and his father. Therefore, I think that this movie may be wrong for me because it’s written that this film is sci-fi genre. Later in the 30th or 40th minute, the real story has begun. And at the end of watching this movie, it feels like a blow your mind like other Christopher Nolan movies. I don’t know how to explain it but I already know why this movie has a very high rating even though this movie was 3 years ago. Not too long either.

So anyway, this film consists of two main points of the story that the conflict between father and son until the space mission that must be implemented by his father to save humanity. To remember, this movie really feels impossible especially if this movie shows how a person is back in age not nearly the same. Let me explain, their journey into space takes almost 100-150 years on earth while in space is very short. So, they will lose many people they care about because of the time difference.

What makes this movie is great because of a visually promising effect. The audience will be shown how the beauty of outer space is as beautiful as possible from what we imagine. Christopher Nolan took his framed-per-frame framing so that his portrayal looks very realistic in outer space. Christopher Nolan’s also very smart about how space is. This film shows a scene with a sound that only propagates through an air intermediary or object. In essence, it sounds like it’s heard but it’s not heard in space. Interstellar is a film that introduces several theories such as blackhole and wormhole. Not only that, the film also introduces heavenly bodies and planets based on calculations from scientists and mathematicians.

I also wonder why this movie has the impression of drama in it. My first impression was like spending too much time on the part of the drama while the adventure and sci-fi were too oblivious. But after watching the ending of the movie, I thought, “Oh, I see. Oh, that’s it. Oh, I understand now.” Yeah, some of you would say that in your heart. Although the beginning of this movie scene is very slow, focusing on drama, or so, all of that is a process that will be explained at the end of the film.

Overall, Interstellar is the most realistic science fiction movie I’ve ever seen. Yeah, although I write a little spoiler in this article, Interstellar is a movie that should not be missed. It’s just that you may find it hard to accept this movie because there are so many physical terms in it. However, this movie is also very good to watch. All of the scenes in this movie are very emotional and very sad. For those of you who have not watched it, maybe you should be hard to face this movie because this movie doesn’t present a happy ending.

Movie – The Martian [REVIEW] – Bring Him Home

IMDB Rating: 8,0/10
Genre: Adventure, Drama, Sci-Fi
Director: Ridley Scott
Writer: Drew Goddard
Stars: Matt Damon, Jessica Chastain, Kristen Wiig

What would happen if you lived on Mars with limited food or no food at all? Maybe, I’ll just give up rather than survive on Mars. But, this film says not. This film shows how a person is harvesting a potato on Mars. Why? It’s very impossible, but this movie will explain it.

“The Martian,” tells about a team of researchers facing a storm and required to go back to earth immediately. Suddenly, one person was stranded and left for allegedly dead. Mark Watney (Matt Damon) is an astronaut botanist who survived the storm and was forced to survive on Mars with limited inventory.

The main actor of this film is Matt Damon who plays as Mark Watney and directed by Ridley Scott. This film also features some famous actors such as Jessica Chastain, Jeff Daniels, and Sean Bean. Initially, the book is written by Andy Weir who can be downloaded for free on his blog. However, someone asked to make its e-book and can be downloaded on Kindle.

I have never seen the trailer. I also originally heard of this movie from all of my friends. But they also recommended me to watch it. And this movie makes me feel excited with the visual effects and plot. Just like other space movies such as Gravity or Interstellar, this movie makes the audience more amazed and curious about what happens in this movie.

This movie teaches us that if you face some problems, it’s not to escape the problem. In fact, who can escape the problem if he is just a Martian? No one else? If you encounter some problems, don’t escape for whatever the problem is. Quite calm and be patiently is important.

Initially, I think will cause some bored with this film. However, during the duration of two hours more, this film is very dissatisfied with the duration of it. Ridley Scott is very clever to draw stories from one scene to another. If you really want to find a plot-twist in this movie, then this movie doesn’t present it. The Martian is a film that doesn’t give a special impression but is very interesting to watch.

This film also slipped small comedies inside. Like, Mark always makes videos while living on Mars. He always said some funny jokes. Rotten Tomatoes gave this movie a 93% Tomato rating, while the IMDB rating was 8.0. From rating, you don’t need to hesitate to watch this movie.

Overall, I very recommended watching it. The beauty of visualization on Mars and also how NASA and outer space work is great. Especially, for Gravity movie fans, 2001: A Space Odyssey, Moon, or Interstellar, I recommend this movie.
