One Punch Man is an ONE’s web-comic manga series that has received much attention in 2012 and remake by Yusuke Murata in Shonen Jump. His manga immediately got a lot of attention after the remake into a better version. Spring 2015, the manga finally released anime adaptation of his 12 episodes that worked by Studio Madhouse. I’m not too fond of the manga and anime especially the fanbase which is more cancer for me. This anime is just an inappropriate mediocre compared to other anime. Therefore, this anime is very popular among the ‘normies’ like Naruto or Dragon Ball. Without further ado, let’s review this anime.
“One Punch Man,” tells about an ordinary people who aspire to be a hero named Saitama (Makoto Furukawa) train hard for 2 years and his efforts are not in vain. Unlike the other superheroes, Saitama felt an incredibly powerful force inside his body, becoming strong and very stocky even though his looks looked like an ordinary person. However, his strength made him a bored hero who always defeated his enemy with just one hit.
So, the point in this anime is a hero who is too strong and just defeats his enemy one hit. For the aspect of the story, I’m not too concerned about it because the arrangement of the existing story in the anime is very different when compared to anime or another superhero movie. For the whole story, it looks good and very interesting to watch. But somehow, I just feel annoying it towards the story and character named Saitama. Saitama is treated like someone who looks as if he is a bad guy by the citizen in the city, and that he is always insulted by other superheroes because of his unfavorable performances. Honestly, I’ve never read the manga at all and just watched the anime. So, for the whole story also indeed I feel very annoyed with this anime.
What’s worse, I just don’t like the fanbase and weeaboo on the internet. Is it possible they just watch the One Punch Man or they are just a bunch of stupid people there? In my opinion, his fanbase is even worse than Rick & Morty and Undertale. These normies somehow they always just compare this Saitama character with the characters that exist in the other anime. What the fuck are you doing? Something similar like this I’ve seen when the normies of Sword Art Online compare Kirito with Guts from Berserk. Maybe they did it just for the sarcasm but I was also a bit fed up because these normies were always acting sober. I just want to say in front of them “Dude, stop watching anime. There are lots of anime and movies you can watch besides this shit. Stop being the normies, dude. That sucks.” In essence, his fanbase is indeed very cancer for me.
But, the artwork is great that worked by Yusuke Murata. The art was great for the anime two years ago. Moreover, I saw some of the manga sheets and it was very good and very amazing to read. In addition, One Punch Man sometimes presents a light humor, sometimes a dark comedy, and sometimes a very stunning action with very serious circumstances. Although I don’t like One Punch Man, this anime also has its own charm. One Punch Man has a very fantasy impression for someone who is still new to anime. And for this anime Opening, ‘THE HERO !!’ by Jam Project is the song. This song is very overrated in that year and indeed this opening is very burning our emotions when watching this anime. And for the ending song, we will listen to a song with a sense of relief entitled ‘Hoshi yori Saki ni Mitsukete Ageru’ by Hiroko Moriguchi.
Overall, this anime is great to watch by people who are new or really like the action-comedy genre. Moreover, this anime is very thick for the size of anime superhero. From what I wrote earlier, this anime does have something that I don’t like. However, this anime is guaranteed not to be bored to watch.
