Movie – Blade Runner 2049 [REVIEW] – The Key To The Future Is Finally Unearthed

IMDB Rating: 8,3/10
Genre: Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi
Director: Denis Villeneuve
Writer: Philip K. Dick
Stars: Harrison FordRyan GoslingAna de Armas

This is a movie that I want, a movie that shows the masterpiece with its beauty cinematographic and a visual effect that is not always unwarranted. Although this movie is not directed by Ridley Scott anymore, I just wonder about Denis Villeneuve why he can be such a genius person to make this masterpiece from a sequel of a masterpiece as well. Of course in this sequel, it still brings some elements of a city of in Los Angeles that is so bleak with the amount of pollution, smoke, filth everywhere, and all sorts of that things. And also, this movie is still cast the main actor of the prequel Harrison Ford and the sequel starring Ryan Gosling. If you haven’t watched this prequel or the movie yet, you should watch it right now because you will never see a movie as good as Blade Runner.

“Blade Runner 2049,” tells about 30 years after the incident in the first movie. Set in 2049 in the same city, a new blade runner named ‘K’ (Ryan Gosling) investigated a dark past of what had happened for 30 years. ‘K’ then finds a clue where he will run a mission to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former blade runner who has disappeared for 30 years.

Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas in Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

Blade Runner 2049 is a sci-fi movie that still brings some elements from its first series such as the philosophy and the existence of the story of both movies. The urban atmosphere in this movie still portrays a gloomy atmosphere of dark, cold and dirty until people still regard the replicant as a threat to humankind. Although not directed by Ridley Scott again, I’m grateful that Denis Villeneuve very understood the first film so well that we still feel the sensations that are accurate in the first movie. Denis Villeneuve is known for his films such as Arrival, Sicario, Enemy, Prisoners, and others. His films also somehow have a uniqueness that’s different from the others. For the second series of Blade Runner, this movie is a bit lost its thrilling nuance. It’s not the same as the first movie that makes the all of the audience very confused so don’t want to watch for the second time anymore. I can say that this is a movie that will change some prospective filmmakers. Its beauty is so satisfying, its cinematography, and all of such things. There will be no more movies like this at the end of 2017 even for the future, it will be very rare to find movies like this.

Ryan Gosling in Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

For the second series of Blade Runner, Ryan Gosling is the main actor of this movie. I can’t get rid of his figure after watching La La Land from romance to a serious movie. The character that played by Ryan Gosling is a character who makes a pity for him. ‘K’ is someone who has to learn a variety of emotions especially in uncovering a mystery to find who exactly he is. This character is like someone who doesn’t care about people around him because he’s considered a replicant by humans in that city. Therefore, ‘K’ always accompany him with an AI Joi. For the performance of Ryan Gosling somewhat it’s interesting to watch if this movie is a thriller, it may be difficult to get used to. Harrison Ford who played as Rick Deckard also has a performed satisfactorily despite his age of inadequacy, he was still able to do even with many physical action scenes. What I like about this sequel is the movie approximately described in detail while the first movie it’s so difficult to understand. The opening scene is also an actor from one of the WWE wrestlers, Dave Bautista a.k.a Batista who played Sapper Morton even though his role here is so short. Jared Leto who played as Niander Wallace is also very good here but for some reason, this character always appears and disappears just like that but he will be the main point of the plot-twist in the story.

Harrison Ford in Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

Just like the first series, Blade Runner 2049 will make you bored with this movie and the duration is also almost three hours. So, this movie isn’t for everyone. Although like that, this movie is more alive than the first series for me. I don’t know why but it’s certain that many people will not feel satisfied when watching this movie in the cinema. But, I just wonder the nuance of the noir that feels lost little by little although there are still one. But, this movie relies more on the plot-twist at the end of the movie although the plot-twist is not too elegant, this will be the core of the main story after you wonder if Rick Deckard is a replicant or a human being. The lack here is that there are so many scenes, dialogues, and angle camera that I find less important to watch so we can’t remember all the important dialogues because they are forgotten by these unimportant elements. But I admit it with its cinematography and visual effects that are so beautifully built for sci-fi movies like this. It’s so full of emotion, the story that keeps developing and it explained slowly but surely so it will make any sense to answer the questions of you big fans of Blade Runner.

Overall, I suggest now for those who haven’t watched the Blade Runner franchise, you should watch it now. No movies are as beautiful as Blade Runner. I’m speechless about this movie and I don’t know what I want to say. The cinematography from Denis Villeneuve and the visual effects that so satisfy the eyes of the audience so that we sometimes don’t feel bored with its beauty of the world from the dark side. Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford are actors who show their performance with the utmost, a fully emotionally constructed character, and a plot-twist that you can’t imagine.

Movie – Chinatown [REVIEW] – You Get Close To Each Other, Maybe You Even Get Close To The Truth

IMDB Rating: 8,2/10
Genre: Drama, Mystery, Thriller
Director: Roman Polanski
Writer: Robert Towne
Stars: Jack NicholsonFaye DunawayJohn Huston

One more thriller movie with plot-twist I like the most. Chinatown is a crime movie directed by Roman Polanski and written by Robert Towne. Starring Jack Nicholson, Chinatown is a thriller movie that somehow so cleverly scripted by Robert Towne. Nothing wrong if he won an Oscar award in the category of Best Writing, Original Screenplay. Chinatown is also one of the first movies I’ve ever watched from Roman Polanski. His directing style is also very different from the others, the music is full of elements of tension like a thriller movie and the memorable feel of horror inside. But is Chinatown the best Roman Polanski movie?

“Chinatown,” tells about a private detective J.J. Gittes (Jack Nicholson) was paid by a woman Ida Sessions (Diane Ladd) to investigate her husband Hollis Mulwray (Darrell Zwerling) who is the head of the water and power department in Los Angeles. During his investigation, J.J. Gittes managed to get a photo of Hollis Mulwray was making out with a woman suspected of being an affair. The next day, the photo appeared on the front page of the newspaper and J.J. Gittes was suddenly visited by Evelyn Mulwray (Faye Dunaway) who turned out to be Hollis Mulwray’s real wife. Gittes then continued the case and later found Hollis Mulwray dead. Gittes was later trapped in a net against which murder, corruption. and incest in this case.

Jack Nicholson and Faye Dunaway in Chinatown (1974)

For the synopsis of this movie, maybe some people are somewhat difficult to understand what happened or some will also understand. What I admit from this movie is a script written by Robert Towne himself. Each scene is always prepared plot-twist, even though small plot twist and unpredictable twist. The twist in Chinatown is not a cheap twist that’s predictable, but it’s a smart surprisingly written by Robert Towne. Chinatown is also one of the most thriller movies that use neo-noir elements in the form of the dark side of a city and human. The issues that occurred in Los Angeles were a corruption, rape, murder, and other dangerous things that happened in the 70s. It also has a strong evidence that the end of the film will be found in one place in Chinatown and its last line quote that’s very legendary and memorable once in every person who watches it’s, “Forget it, Jake It’s Chinatown.” At the time of this quote is mentioned, I immediately feel like amazed during see this movie and immediately understand what really happened in this movie. It’s amazing with the directing of Roman Polanski. By the way, he also becomes a cameo in this movie and you can guess it.

Jack Nicholson and John Huston in Chinatown (1974)

The actors who appear in this movie are also brilliant apart from the very brilliantly written scripts as well. Jack Nicholson who plays J.J. Gittes and Faye Dunaway who plays Evelyn Mulwray. They both received an Oscar nomination in the Best Actor in a Leading Role won by Art Carney from Harry and Tonto and Best Actress in a Leading Role won by Ellen Burstyn from Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore. I’ve often seen Jack Nicholson always brings his character that always has its own unique side. Call it One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest which is the best acting ever played from all of his movies. In this movie, his character looks like a bad guy outside. But inside, he is someone who still has sympathy and empathy towards others. As with Chinatown, he plays his character here quite similar to One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest. He is the actor who always gets Oscar nominations every decade.

Overall, Chinatown is a neo-noir movie that must be watched by you who really like a thriller or crime movie. With a script written so smartly by Robert Towne, Chinatown always shows us a plot-twist in every scene. Especially with Hollywood actors that very famous because of his acting, this movie adds nuance. The music in this movie also has a very nuanced tension and fear.

Manhwa – Ghost Teller [REVIEW] – Much More Terrifying Than Ghosts

Webtoon Rating: 9,78
Genre: Drama, Horror, Mystery, Psychological, Supernatural
Author: QTT

I’ve known a lot about this manhwa for a long time. I’ve been reading it for some time but somehow, I dropped this comic. However, today I read this comic marathon and this manhwa brings the further experience of what’s more frightening than humans. First of all, maybe some people think that this comic is a horror comic that contains jumpscare ghosts that have become a taboo thing. However, this is not another horror comic but this is a more frightening, more painful, more annoying story than a monster or a ghost.

“Ghost Teller,” tells about a ghostly world filled with a group of ghosts who love to tell the horror stories of the true personality of humans. These ghosts will tell the most horrible story of the secret behind the human and more sinister than the ghosts.

So essentially, the story in this comic will often alternate about what they will tell. A group of these ghosts will tell alternately about the story of the original nature of the man and will be even more sinister. Therefore, this comic actually is not too transfixed with the synopsis. The plot will be told live in turns, character differences in each story, and the time difference and background used. The point is a story time before going to sleep. Indeed this comic is a bit difficult to explain why this comic has no core story at all but to answer that question, you have to read it.

Each storytelling will have a different story that sometimes according to this storyteller address. They told of a bitter and painful experience of how the human walks it. Betrayal, duplicity, selfishness, oppression, and all sorts of deadly sins of human beings. All of it has its own phase. One more thing about this comic that can say is great to read that sometimes this storytelling contains plot-twist that cannot be guessed. Sometimes we guess who the criminals are in this story and what will happen next. In essence, every story that told about this always makes me tense and scared but how the ending of the story is. The character development is also not really told in detail and it seems there are some who missed. Therefore, the author gives a good news about this comic that he will make the second season. The first season alone has made me shake but this sense of satisfaction can’t be lost because of is just 38 chapter. However, I always appreciate and give thanks to what the author has given to his fans.

Overall, Ghost Teller is a horror comic that does not tell a story about ghosts and everything. But this is an interesting story about the original nature of man. Sometimes, humans always blame ghosts for just that very reason and are afraid of a ghost. However, they sometimes do not realize that they are worse than ghosts even worse than monsters. Ghost Teller is a manhwa that must be read by you horror and thriller fans.

Anime – School-Live! [REVIEW] – A Post-apocalyptic Life

MyAnimeList Rating: 7,69/10
Genre: Slice of Life, Mystery, Horror, Psychological, School, Seinen
Studios: Lerche
Author: Norimitsu Kaihou (Story), Sadoru Chiba (Art)
Seiyuu: Ari Ozawa, Inori Minase, Mao Ichimichi

So, what do you expect when viewing this anime cover? If you want an anime that’s all cute characters, you will not be suitable for anime especially for those who got a troll while watching the end of episode 1 it was like watching something wrong. In essence, welcome to the zombie apocalypse where everything is just a fantasy. But is School-Live! can draw the attention of the audience if only watch the first episode? How is the adaptation of this manga by Norimitsu Kaihou? Is it interesting enough at the end or not?

“School-Live!,” opened the story with the cheerful daily life of Yuki Takeya (Inori Minase), Kurumi Ebisuzawa (Ari Ozawa), Yuuri Wakasa (Mao Ichimichi), Miki Naoki (Rie Takahashi), Megumi Sakura (Ai Kayano) Taroumaru (Emiri Katou). Yuki Takeya loves this school so much that she doesn’t want to leave her though. Megurigaoka Private High School is a unique school where they can live and enjoy their daily life with the School Living Club. Their daily life is the most beautiful and joyful moment they live it. But it was all a mere illusion created by Yuki about how the school should suit her expectations. In fact, Yuki is just not accepting the reality that’s happening around her and their club also aims to escape from shocking and disturbing truth. They had to survive the zombie apocalypse and barricaded them inside the school as sole survivors.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica is a memorable story of a magical girl, in the beginning. But, School-Live! is a memorable story of cute characters who live their lives in school. It’s just, School-Live! providing a plot-twist of that magnitude in the first episode. Therefore, this anime is actually quite interesting and instant to watch even though the story is also actually not a new story. One of the unique characters among all of the characters is Yuki Takeya the main character of this anime. Yuki Takeya is a person with mental illness where she’s just looking around her with different views. Many fans hate this character very much but I don’t hate it and don’t like it either. If her friends always think that life around him faced with many zombies, Yuki Takeya will change the atmosphere it becomes more cute and relaxed.

Yuki Miki

School-Live! can be said as anime slice of life that’s very good to follow for those who like a slice of life because the story also focuses on that genre. School-Live! can also be classified as a standard and visual anime until the music is quite suitable for this anime. Sometimes, this anime always gives a surprise element in some episodes. By the way, there is a reference showing Miki Naoki reading Stephen King’s novel The Stand that has exactly the same story as School-Live! although there is little difference.

Overall, School-Live! is anime cute girls doing cute things that are very nice to watch for those of you who love moe or something cute. But, this anime also doesn’t impress and doesn’t give the memorable impression at the end of the story. In fact, I am wondering what’s the purpose of the ending. However, the whole story is also good although there is a lot of lack.

Anime – Puella Magi Madoka Magica [REVIEW] – An Encounter That Would Change Her Destiny

MyAnimeList Rating: 8,47/10
Genre: Drama, Magic, Psychological, Thriller
Studios: Shaft
Author: Hajime Ninomae
Seiyuu: Saito Chiwa, Aoi Yuuki, Ai Nonaka

So if you want something about anime that has a thriller genre, maybe this anime will suitable for you. But why is the anime cover like that? Yeah, although this anime has a genre that has the impression of drama and magic, this anime is also a thriller and psychological. When I first heard about this anime, I have no interest in what he wants to tell me about this anime. In fact, I don’t want to watch it when I see it from the cover and read the synopsis as well. After all, this anime is just a children’s story about a girl who aspires to be a magical girl. But what makes this anime so strange is the rating and why anime like this have a thriller and psychological genre? All that changes when you watching it and if you remember this anime again is like having remembered something so sick in the heart. If you’re curious, let’s review this anime!

Homura Akemi

“Puella Magi Madoka Magica,” tells about a middle-high school student Madoka Kaname (Aoi Yuuki) and Sayaka Miki (Eri Kitamura) living their lives like a typical school girl. All that changes when they meet a fantasy creature cat-like Kyuubey (Emiri Katou) and a new student Homura Akemi (Chiwa Saito). Kyuubey then offers them a wish that they want. Then, they accept the offer and become a magical girl who has the power of their dreams. However, Homura Akemi the magical girl also doesn’t accept their choice and always prevents what Kyuubey does.

Mami Tomoe

Yeah, reading the synopsis is just as impressive as the witch girl’s storytelling. As always, don’t judge the book by its cover. You have to dig deeper into what’s going on in this anime. First of all, somehow this anime has a thriller genre in it. Because of the focus of the story only in the thriller than the magical girl. The development of the story is also very good, especially the plot-twist endings that make us depressed after watching this anime. Therefore, this anime is very deceptive and not recommended for children or people who only see something from the cover. The artwork’s also early has a cute and sweet impression of the story of a magical girl. In fact, things will change. The concept of artwork made by Studio Shaft is very abstract so it fits perfectly with the impression of his thriller.

Sayaka Miki

Secondly, this anime thriller effect makes the audience to bring emotion to the heart that is sliced even though this anime has 95% girl character. In fact, even though all the characters are girls it doesn’t mean the anime doesn’t have any violence. Even vice versa for those who have never watched this anime. The fans of Puella Magi Madoka Magica must really like this true hero, Homura Akemi even though this anime doesn’t focus on her. But, I don’t want to tell you why Homura is more favored than Madoka though Madoka also has a big role in this anime. In essence, you will not be able to find a happy impression for this anime, there’s no impression of the children in it, and all that will make you depressed and frustrated when watching this anime.

Overall, don’t judge the book by its cover. Although this anime has a mainstream impression to watch, it’s all there if we follow it patiently. This anime has a good character and development story, let alone my friend recommend me to watch the movie from the sequel to the series. He says it more hurts than the series. Hopefully, I can get through it.

Movie – Se7en [REVIEW] – Seven Deadly Sins, Seven Ways To Die

IMDB Rating: 8,6/10
Genre: Crime, Drama, Mystery
Director: David Fincher
Writer: Andrew Kevin Walker
Stars: Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, Kevin Spacey

In this film, David Fincher invites his audience to go through with 2 detectives in a murder case with a unique motive. This second film from David Fincher is set places in a Metro city that always happens a criminal case every day. You will feel a sensation of how a mystery movie with a thriller genre that is very tense and full of a puzzle. With a background sound from Howard Shore’s, opening credit course features some disturbing pictures that are very annoying but make it interesting to see. Previously, David Fincher had directed Alien 3 movie from a series called Alien.

Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman in Se7en (1995)

“Se7en,” tells Detective Mills (Brad Pitt) was transferred in a case to help Detective Somerset (Morgan Freeman) deal with a serial murder case. In a first murder, a prosecutor was murdered by leaving Greed’s writings. Until the next case, Somerset investigated a house of previous homicide victims and found Gluttony’s writing inside the house. The facts revealed that Somerset believes that this serial killing will continue in the future even though he also always gave up when he got a point that could end the case.

Se7en (1995)

With the cinematography created in this film, the atmosphere of the place in this movie has a very dark impression with combined by a weather that often rains make that looks like a cursed city for its many criminals who always happen. I can say that this movie is not like the movies of the 90s, even this looks like a movie that existed in the year 2010’s. Screenplay written in this movie is also one of why this film is very interesting to watch that take a theme story from Seven Deadly Sins. The audience will be asked how a puzzle that often appears will be so curious when watched.

This film also takes a story material that is always associated with the number 7. In this film, we will often see a concept that often links literature works, books about murder like In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. This is what makes this film reinforces the impression of the existing thriller. Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt are the actors who build the atmosphere of this movie and getting better. Unexpectedly if they both play together in this movie, nothing is too prominent because they both play a balanced role.

Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey in Se7en (1995)

If it is associated with other David Fincher movies, many say that this film is a bit reminiscent of a thriller film titled Gone Girl. Although I have never fully watched Gone Girl, some say that these two films are almost identical let alone the psychopaths that exist in both these movies always make the audience was surprised because of it. Kevin Spacey that play in this movie also great that before he cast some thriller genre film entitled The Usual Suspect.

If you see the ending of this film, Fincher makes the audience tense because it makes the ending so dramatic and the ending which is a plot-twist. Mills will be in a situation where he will win or lose by the game of the psychopath made. It’s a bit hard to explain in detail but this will impact the spoiler for those who haven’t watched it yet. But, I will admit that the ending in this movie is made great and make us admire the ending.

Overall, I just didn’t think that this movie was made in the 90’s. If I watch it again, this movie just looks like the movies now look more fresh and smooth. Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt are two great actors in this movie. Do you like the movie made by David Fincher? You guys will love this movie. In fact, thriller movie fans also know that this movie is good to watch.

Game – Call Of Duty: Black Ops II [REVIEW] – They’ll Always Need Men Like Us

IGN Rating: 9,3/10
Genre: First-person Shooter
Developer: Treyarch
Publisher: Activision
Director: Dave Anthony and Timothy Tomaszewski
Engine: IW Engine
Platforms: Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U

Several days, I never write some article because I have to start college on Monday. So, I’m sorry if I haven’t been writing for a couple of days.

Call of Duty has always managed to sell with amazing numbers, it’s enough to make it break record profits several times, even yearly. No doubt if this game was born in the hands of Activision with his colleagues, Treyarch and Infinity Ward. Treyarch turned out to add some new features of this series, not only from the side of the visualization but also the gameplay. This Call of Duty is very different from other Call of Duty series. They made the concept of the second world war of the past to incorporate the concept of future war, reinforced by plots and futuristic settings.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops II,” will focus on two-pointed stories with different timelines. David Mason (codename: Section) acts far from the exact future of 2025 and the main character of the first series, Alex Mason father of David Mason in action in the mid-1980s. These two characters will take you in the same main plot, with a nonlinear storyline between the two. This plot will later connect a common thread, Raul Menendez. Raul Menendez is the main antagonist in this game, albeit in a different timeline. By building strength as a drug cartel, Menendez holds a deep grudge against Alex Mason and Frank Woods for the death of his beloved sister Josefina. Gazed and allegedly dead, Menendez re-established an idealist new force sufficient to shake the world in the year 2025 named, Cordis Die called as a movement to destroy the capitalist countries in the world. With billions of followers, Menendez successfully hacked and paralyzed the stock exchange in China and sparked a cold war between the two superpower nations of the world, US and China. From here, the plan of revenge begins.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II actually doesn’t change a gameplay on offer. Not much different from the previous Call of Duty game that is still seen as a conventional FPS game. Players still have to finish off every enemy while enjoying the plot and epic drama that has not faded from the Call of Duty series. Some things that may have to be considered the player is the impression of futuristic war that became the main theme. Although the problem of gameplay is not too complicated if playing as Alex Mason involved in the war of the 80s, futuristic war playing as David Mason forces you to learn various weapons, technology, enemies and so isn’t familiar with Call of Duty.

The most important thing to learn is also the weapon. Although some weapons in the form of attachments will make the nature of the weapon to be new, players must recognize how recoil, reload speed and force grip on weapons that you must understand. Some weapons also adapt technologies that don’t yet exist in the real world such as the ability to see invisibility and raise the power of bullet penetration. On the other hand, enemy teams come up with cloaking technology that makes them invisible. This is what makes this series feel more refreshing.

Call of Duty BO2

In addition, Treyarch also added a new game mode that developed into a side mission, Strike Force Mode. This mode is only available for a limited period of time as long as you run the main story. This mode also determines the direction changes the story will get in the main mission. Strike Force focuses more on the efforts of hunting Tian-Zhao, a general who has a personal interest to work with Menendez. This Strike Force will affect some story relations between China and the US. In this mode, Strike Force comes with a more condensed RTS atmosphere than FPS. The use of point of view also, of course, helps you face the enemy from above. Players can control troops to move and attack the enemy with ease. However, AI’s that move in RTS mode is so vulnerable and easy to die. But you can also personally control each member.

There’s one thing that makes some players Call of Duty fell in love with this game is a game that has a story that can be quite unique. Treyarch tries to add a new feature to this series. Players will be offered a story that is pretty much determined by the players themselves during play this game. Players create a story of their own through a variety of options available. Players will be offered significant choices that will greatly affect the direction of the story to be gained. But this option isn’t only passive, but also active in the gameplay you play. For example, in one mission you will be given a situation where the player will kill the person or not. There’s no such game over when you do it, it will continue but produce certain consequences. Therefore, the death or failure of this person will result in a very different story later. Combined with the Strike Force mode that the player completes successfully, all of these options will end in how well you end up. Treyarch provides 6 different endings for this series and everything will be influenced by the choices that players have set throughout the game.

Overall, this game basically still has its main deficiency in AI. However, the advantages that cover the shortcomings. Visualization, Strike Force, Alternative story, ending, dramatization, futuristic war concept, and a little easter egg are all looking good and refreshing. Call of Duty: Black Ops II is a potentially experimental series for a new direction for all future games. Recommendations for a player who very likes FPS games and themed military shooter. Somewhat unsuitable for players who don’t like full game strategy.

Movie – Fight Club [REVIEW] – Mischief, Mayhem, Soap

IMDB Rating: 8,8/10
Genre: Drama
Director: David Fincher
Writer: Chuck Palahniuk
Stars: Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, Meat Loaf

What’s on your mind when you first see the cover of this movie? Maybe the movie content only tells about someone who just loves to fight anywhere. But Chuck Palahniuk tricked you. The film adaptation of the novel entitled same was directed by David Fincher who previously also worked on Se7en. The actors who play in this film is also a big star, especially Brad Pitt, which makes himself popular because of this movie. Edward Norton is also playing in this movie but make no mistake because maybe you guys will assume that Brad Pitt is the main actor in this movie.

Brad Pitt, Holt McCallany, and Brian Tochi in Fight Club (1999)

“Fight Club,” tells about a man (Edward Norton) who acts as a Narrator in this movie. This Narrator’s name is never mentioned while you watch this movie. Narrator worked in a car company with a fairly decent living. The problem is, he always has severe insomnia. In order to cure his illness, Narrator went to a church sharing class, listened to some stories from people who were severely ill, until he felt much better. Meeting Marla Singer (Helena Bonham Carter) who is in the same class as the Narrator, he is disturbed by Marla’s existence that finally tells Marla not to go to the sharing class again. In a flight, Narrator meets Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) someone who works as a hand soap maker who eventually later change the whole life of Narrator and opens up a club underground fights under the bar.

Both of these great actors play very well in this movie. Especially, Edward Norton should be able to keep up with Brad Pitt. However, Norton is able to play well with Brad in this movie especially if Norton might be better than Brad Pitt. The total of both-also played very well. There are no shortcomings.

Edward Norton stars as the narrator

To be able to watch this movie requires a lot of patience because in minutes early to an hour need the introduction of characters that look so slow and so boring. In this minute, the story hasn’t seen a conflict and hasn’t yet entered the main of the story. Until then, there was a conflict between Narrator, Tyler, and Marla until the characters in this movie began to look interesting and more curious to watch.

Edward Norton in Fight Club (1999)

Maybe also, in the end, this film is a bit disappointing because of its ending. I was thinking that the ending might be a bit off the mark with this movie story. However, the whole story from beginning to end can finally be solved with a plot-twist ending. Nothing exciting and special with a plot-twist for myself but only a little surprised when exposing all the problems experienced by the protagonist.

Overall, this isn’t a movie that only focuses on a group of crazy people who are very fond of fighting but this is a suspense masterpiece movie that is combined a little element thriller and psychological. The theme in this movie also contains a little element of maturity and explicit. Although, kids aren’t recommended for underage children. However, this movie is as good as being ranked 10# IMDB Rating. So, it is recommended for adults and very love a movie about a street fight with a plot-twist.

Anime – Serial Experiments Lain [REVIEW] – Present Day, Present Time!

MyAnimeList Rating: 7,99/10
Genre: Dementia, Drama, Mystery, Psychological, Sci-Fi, Supernatural
Studios: Triangle Staff
Author: Yoshitoshi Abe
Seiyuu: Kaori Shimizu, Yoko Asada, Show Hayami

Of all the anime that I’ve watched, this is the first anime I’ve watched many times to understood what is mean. I also read all of the reviews on blogs as well on YouTube. Previously also, I once discussed what the first impression after watching one or two episodes. This time, I will try to review this anime.

“Serial Experiments Lain,” tells the story of an introverted teenage girl named Iwakura Lain (Kaori Shimizu) isolated by some of her friends. Wired is a very popular social network of children and adults. One day, there was a case that happened at her school. They all get spam messages that don’t know where they come from. Lain is someone who doesn’t know about computers. Because she told by one of her friends, Lain tried to buy computers that have Wired network. The message was sent by Lain classmate named Yomoda Chisa (Sumi Mutou) who committed suicide before the message was sent. Chisa says that she didn’t die, it’s just that she left her physical body. Chisa said that she has lived in a virtual world that is a reciprocal relationship between the real world and the virtual world. Chisa says that she has found the real God. From here, Lain gets stuck in a series of cases that Chisa is talking about and find out what the real meaning of Wired is.

If looking at the genre, this anime certainly shows a very dark impression, gloomy, difficult to understand, and confused about what just watched. If a movie or anime normally shows a problem to the completion level, then this anime will make a lot of questions into the final episode. I also feel confused until now what is the purpose of this anime. The plot of the story seems very slow but makes the audience to be carried into the hallucinations that exist in this anime. Anime like this is usually named Dementia.

This anime really shows the true meaning and impact of playing in a virtual world or something like people say, The Internet. This anime explains how someone who doesn’t really know the internet world to be someone who always closed himself. When someone is very innocent and very friendly to everyone, then the internet changed her personality to be a very quiet person and always close his heart to others. Iwakura Lain is one of the highly introverted characters. After learning some tech, he became very good in that. Even people call him, Hacker.

For those who do not understand, Dementia is a term used to explain how functional decline is often caused by abnormalities in the brain. Dementia isn’t a disease, but a symptom caused by diseases and disorders of the brain. In the anime, Dementia is practically a genre but there is no Dementia term in the movie. Dementia is an anime genre that has mind-twisting plots, where the plot-twist itself must require highly focused thinking in order to be understood. Dementia is also not an anime genre but can be said to be part of the “Psychological” genre. Examples of Dementia anime in addition to Serial Experiments Lain such as Neon Genesis Evangelion, FLCL, Perfect Blue, Boogiepop Phantom, Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories, and others.

This anime shows how the main character has a two personality. On one side, She Introvert and on the other side, She Extrovert. Another unconscious with herself who always changes her personality. Her friends tell her that she has two sides. However, this anime will explain it to the end but it can lead to perplexed confusion after watching it. This anime mixes the real side and the unreal side. The audience will be difficult to distinguish the real and unreal side of this anime. Therefore, theories and conspiracies are also very much in this anime. The sound of BGM is so bleak that supports the theme and the dark side of this anime. This anime explains something mixed up and coupled with hallucinations and dreams. The audience will be carried into the core of the story.

Overall, I don’t know if I should suggest you guys watch this anime or not. What is clear, this anime can make you confused prolonged until the end. You can also be involved by hallucinations and existing reality. However, for those of you who are very fond of this kind of anime genre you can watch it. Not recommended for those of you who don’t really like the anime that has a very complicated story.

Some ‘Plot-Twist’ Will Make That Very Interesting

Okay and we’ve arrived at the 11th day. If yesterday we discuss my favorite fighter anime, today we will discuss the topic, “Favorite Mech Anime.”

I don’t really like anime mech. Just a few of the mech anime I watch like Code Geass, Aldnoah.Zero, and Date A Live. As it is, that’s just the mech anime I’m watching. When asked what my mech anime favorite is, I’ll say, “Buddy Complex.”

“Buddy Complex,” set in a school. When an ordinary student named Watase Aoba, he was suddenly targeted by a giant robot named, “Valiancer.” He was saved by his mysterious classmate Yumihara Hina. Upon revealing that she and the robot were from the future, Hina suddenly brought Aoba to 70 years ahead to prevent his death.

I really love this anime. Reading the synopsis is interesting, and want to watch it. This anime if I compare to other mech anime is very different. The plot of the story that we all wondered why, why and why. The question will be answered after seeing the last plot-twist. This anime also remember some one movie that name, Pacific Rim.

Okay, so we have to end our topic this time. It felt very short, well. But, I just don’t know want to write much less. In fact, I don’t really know much about mech anime. For our topic tomorrow, we will discuss “Saddest Anime Scene.”
