Movie – Se7en [REVIEW] – Seven Deadly Sins, Seven Ways To Die

IMDB Rating: 8,6/10
Genre: Crime, Drama, Mystery
Director: David Fincher
Writer: Andrew Kevin Walker
Stars: Morgan Freeman, Brad Pitt, Kevin Spacey

In this film, David Fincher invites his audience to go through with 2 detectives in a murder case with a unique motive. This second film from David Fincher is set places in a Metro city that always happens a criminal case every day. You will feel a sensation of how a mystery movie with a thriller genre that is very tense and full of a puzzle. With a background sound from Howard Shore’s, opening credit course features some disturbing pictures that are very annoying but make it interesting to see. Previously, David Fincher had directed Alien 3 movie from a series called Alien.

Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman in Se7en (1995)

“Se7en,” tells Detective Mills (Brad Pitt) was transferred in a case to help Detective Somerset (Morgan Freeman) deal with a serial murder case. In a first murder, a prosecutor was murdered by leaving Greed’s writings. Until the next case, Somerset investigated a house of previous homicide victims and found Gluttony’s writing inside the house. The facts revealed that Somerset believes that this serial killing will continue in the future even though he also always gave up when he got a point that could end the case.

Se7en (1995)

With the cinematography created in this film, the atmosphere of the place in this movie has a very dark impression with combined by a weather that often rains make that looks like a cursed city for its many criminals who always happen. I can say that this movie is not like the movies of the 90s, even this looks like a movie that existed in the year 2010’s. Screenplay written in this movie is also one of why this film is very interesting to watch that take a theme story from Seven Deadly Sins. The audience will be asked how a puzzle that often appears will be so curious when watched.

This film also takes a story material that is always associated with the number 7. In this film, we will often see a concept that often links literature works, books about murder like In Cold Blood by Truman Capote. This is what makes this film reinforces the impression of the existing thriller. Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt are the actors who build the atmosphere of this movie and getting better. Unexpectedly if they both play together in this movie, nothing is too prominent because they both play a balanced role.

Brad Pitt and Kevin Spacey in Se7en (1995)

If it is associated with other David Fincher movies, many say that this film is a bit reminiscent of a thriller film titled Gone Girl. Although I have never fully watched Gone Girl, some say that these two films are almost identical let alone the psychopaths that exist in both these movies always make the audience was surprised because of it. Kevin Spacey that play in this movie also great that before he cast some thriller genre film entitled The Usual Suspect.

If you see the ending of this film, Fincher makes the audience tense because it makes the ending so dramatic and the ending which is a plot-twist. Mills will be in a situation where he will win or lose by the game of the psychopath made. It’s a bit hard to explain in detail but this will impact the spoiler for those who haven’t watched it yet. But, I will admit that the ending in this movie is made great and make us admire the ending.

Overall, I just didn’t think that this movie was made in the 90’s. If I watch it again, this movie just looks like the movies now look more fresh and smooth. Morgan Freeman and Brad Pitt are two great actors in this movie. Do you like the movie made by David Fincher? You guys will love this movie. In fact, thriller movie fans also know that this movie is good to watch.

Game – Call Of Duty: Black Ops II [REVIEW] – They’ll Always Need Men Like Us

IGN Rating: 9,3/10
Genre: First-person Shooter
Developer: Treyarch
Publisher: Activision
Director: Dave Anthony and Timothy Tomaszewski
Engine: IW Engine
Platforms: Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii U

Several days, I never write some article because I have to start college on Monday. So, I’m sorry if I haven’t been writing for a couple of days.

Call of Duty has always managed to sell with amazing numbers, it’s enough to make it break record profits several times, even yearly. No doubt if this game was born in the hands of Activision with his colleagues, Treyarch and Infinity Ward. Treyach turned out to add some new features of this series, not only from the side of the visualization but also the gameplay. This Call of Duty is very different from other Call of Duty series. They made the concept of the second world war of the past to incorporate the concept of future war, reinforced by plots and futuristic settings.

“Call of Duty: Black Ops II,” will focus on two-pointed stories with different timelines. David Mason (codename: Section) acts far from the exact future of 2025 and the main character of the first series, Alex Mason father of David Mason in action in the mid-1980s. These two characters will take you in the same main plot, with a nonlinear storyline between the two. This plot will later connect a common thread, Raul Menendez. Raul Menendez is the main antagonist in this game, albeit in a different timeline. By building strength as a drug cartel, Menendez holds a deep grudge against Alex Mason and Frank Woods for the death of his beloved sister Josefina. Gazed and allegedly dead, Menendez re-established an idealist new force sufficient to shake the world in the year 2025 named, Cordis Die called as a movement to destroy the capitalist countries in the world. With billions of followers, Menendez successfully hacked and paralyzed the stock exchange in China and sparked a cold war between the two superpower nations of the world, US and China. From here, the plan of revenge begins.

Call of Duty: Black Ops II is actually doesn’t change a gameplay on offer. Not much different from the previous Call of Duty game that is still seen as a conventional FPS game. Players still have to finish off every enemy while enjoying the plot and epic drama that has not faded from the Call of Duty series. Some things that may have to be considered the player is the impression of futuristic war that became the main theme. Although the problem of gameplay is not too complicated if playing as Alex Mason involved in the war of the 80s, futuristic war playing as David Mason forces you to learn various weapons, technology, enemies and so isn’t familiar with Call of Duty.

The most important thing to learn is also the weapon. Although some weapons in the form of attachments will make the nature of the weapon to be new, players must recognize how recoil, reload speed and force grip on weapons that you must understand. Some weapons also adapt technologies that don’t yet exist in the real world such as the ability to see invisibility and raise the power of bullet penetration. On the other hand, enemy teams come up with cloaking technology that makes them invisible. This is what makes this series feel more refreshing.

Call of Duty BO2

In addition, Treyach also added a new game mode that developed into a side mission, Strike Force Mode. This mode is only available for a limited period of time as long as you run the main story. This mode also determines the direction changes the story will get in the main mission. Strike Force focuses more on the efforts of hunting Tian-Zhao, a general who has a personal interest to work with Menendez. This Strike Force will affect some story relations between China and the US. In this mode, Strike Force comes with a more condensed RTS atmosphere than FPS. The use of point of view also, of course, helps you face the enemy from above. Players can control troops to move and attack the enemy with ease. However, AI’s that move in RTS mode is so vulnerable and easy to die. But you can also personally control each member.

There’s one thing that makes some players Call of Duty fell in love with this game is a game that has a story that can be quite unique. Treyach tries to add a new feature to this series. Players will be offered a story that is pretty much determined by the players themselves during play this game. Players create a story of their own through a variety of options available. Players will be offered significant choices that will greatly affect the direction of the story to be gained. But this option isn’t only passive, but also active in the gameplay you play. For example, in one mission you will be given a situation where the player will kill the person or not. There’s no such game over when you do it, it will continue but produce certain consequences. Therefore, the death or failure of this person will result in a very different story later. Combined with the Strike Force mode that the player completes successfully, all of these options will end in how well you end up. Treyach provides 8 different endings for this series and everything will be influenced by the choices that players have set throughout the game.

Overall, this game basically still has its main deficiency in AI. However, the advantages that cover the shortcomings. Visualization, Strike Force, Alternative story, ending, dramatization, futuristic war concept, and a little easter egg are all looking good and refreshing. Call of Duty: Black Ops II is a potentially experimental series for a new direction for all future games. Recommendations for a player who very likes FPS games and themed military shooter. Somewhat unsuitable for players who don’t like full game strategy.

Movie – Fight Club [REVIEW] – Mischief, Mayhem, Soap

IMDB Rating: 8,8/10
Genre: Drama
Director: David Fincher
Writer: Chuck Palahniuk
Stars: Brad Pitt, Edward Norton, Meat Loaf

What’s on your mind when you first see the cover of this movie? Maybe the movie content only tells about someone who just loves to fight anywhere. But Chuck Palahniuk tricked you. The film adaptation of the novel entitled same was directed by David Fincher who previously also worked on Se7en. The actors who play in this film is also a big star, especially Brad Pitt, which makes himself popular because of this movie. Edward Norton is also playing in this movie but make no mistake because maybe you guys will assume that Brad Pitt is the main actor in this movie.

Brad Pitt, Holt McCallany, and Brian Tochi in Fight Club (1999)

“Fight Club,” tells about a man (Edward Norton) who acts as a Narrator in this movie. This Narrator’s name is never mentioned while you watch this movie. Narrator worked in a car company with a fairly decent living. The problem is, he always has severe insomnia. In order to cure his illness, Narrator went to a church sharing class, listened to some stories from people who were severely ill, until he felt much better. Meeting Marla Singer (Helena Bonham Carter) who is in the same class as the Narrator, he is disturbed by Marla’s existence that finally tells Marla not to go to the sharing class again. In a flight, Narrator meets Tyler Durden (Brad Pitt) someone who works as a hand soap maker who eventually later change the whole life of Narrator and opens up a club underground fights under the bar.

Both of these great actors play very well in this movie. Especially, Edward Norton should be able to keep up with Brad Pitt. However, Norton is able to play well with Brad in this movie especially if Norton might be better than Brad Pitt. The total of both-also played very well. There are no shortcomings.

Edward Norton stars as the narrator

To be able to watch this movie requires a lot of patience because in minutes early to an hour need the introduction of characters that look so slow and so boring. In this minute, the story hasn’t seen a conflict and hasn’t yet entered the main of the story. Until then, there was a conflict between Narrator, Tyler, and Marla until the characters in this movie began to look interesting and more curious to watch.

Edward Norton in Fight Club (1999)

Maybe also, in the end, this film is a bit disappointing because of its ending. I was thinking that the ending might be a bit off the mark with this movie story. However, the whole story from beginning to end can finally be solved with a plot-twist ending. Nothing exciting and special with a plot-twist for myself but only a little surprised when exposing all the problems experienced by the protagonist.

Overall, this isn’t a movie that only focuses on a group of crazy people who are very fond of fighting but this is a suspense masterpiece movie that is combined a little element thriller and psychological. The theme in this movie also contains a little element of maturity and explicit. Although, kids aren’t recommended for underage children. However, this movie is as good as being ranked 10# IMDB Rating. So, it is recommended for adults and very love a movie about a street fight with a plot-twist.

Anime – Serial Experiments Lain [REVIEW] – Present Day, Present Time!

MyAnimeList Rating: 7,99/10
Genre: Dementia, Drama, Mystery, Psychological, Sci-Fi, Supernatural
Studios: Triangle Staff
Author: Yoshitoshi Abe
Seiyuu: Kaori Shimizu, Yoko Asada, Show Hayami

Of all the anime that I’ve watched, this is the first anime I’ve watched many times to understood what is mean. I also read all of the reviews on blogs as well on YouTube. Previously also, I once discussed what the first impression after watching one or two episodes. This time, I will try to review this anime.

“Serial Experiments Lain,” tells the story of an introverted teenage girl named Iwakura Lain (Kaori Shimizu) isolated by some of her friends. Wired is a very popular social network of children and adults. One day, there was a case that happened at her school. They all get spam messages that don’t know where they come from. Lain is someone who doesn’t know about computers. Because she told by one of her friends, Lain tried to buy computers that have Wired network. The message was sent by Lain classmate named Yomoda Chisa (Sumi Mutou) who committed suicide before the message was sent. Chisa says that she didn’t die, it’s just that she left her physical body. Chisa said that she has lived in a virtual world that is a reciprocal relationship between the real world and the virtual world. Chisa says that she has found the real God. From here, Lain gets stuck in a series of cases that Chisa is talking about and find out what the real meaning of Wired is.

If looking at the genre, this anime certainly shows a very dark impression, gloomy, difficult to understand, and confused about what just watched. If a movie or anime normally shows a problem to the completion level, then this anime will make a lot of questions into the final episode. I also feel confused until now what is the purpose of this anime. The plot of the story seems very slow but makes the audience to be carried into the hallucinations that exist in this anime. Anime like this is usually named Dementia.

This anime really shows the true meaning and impact of playing in a virtual world or something like people say, The Internet. This anime explains how someone who doesn’t really know the internet world to be someone who always closed himself. When someone is very innocent and very friendly to everyone, then the internet changed her personality to be a very quiet person and always close his heart to others. Iwakura Lain is one of the highly introverted characters. After learning some tech, he became very good in that. Even people call him, Hacker.

For those who do not understand, Dementia is a term used to explain how functional decline is often caused by abnormalities in the brain. Dementia isn’t a disease, but a symptom caused by diseases and disorders of the brain. In the anime, Dementia is practically a genre but there is no Dementia term in the movie. Dementia is an anime genre that has mind-twisting plots, where the plot-twist itself must require highly focused thinking in order to be understood. Dementia is also not an anime genre but can be said to be part of the “Psychological” genre. Examples of Dementia anime in addition to Serial Experiments Lain such as Neon Genesis Evangelion, FLCL, Perfect Blue, Boogiepop Phantom, Yamishibai: Japanese Ghost Stories, and others.

This anime shows how the main character has a two personality. On one side, She Introvert and on the other side, She Extrovert. Another unconscious with herself who always changes her personality. Her friends tell her that she has two sides. However, this anime will explain it to the end but it can lead to perplexed confusion after watching it. This anime mixes the real side and the unreal side. The audience will be difficult to distinguish the real and unreal side of this anime. Therefore, theories and conspiracies are also very much in this anime. The sound of BGM is so bleak that supports the theme and the dark side of this anime. This anime explains something mixed up and coupled with hallucinations and dreams. The audience will be carried into the core of the story.

Overall, I don’t know if I should suggest you guys watch this anime or not. What is clear, this anime can make you confused prolonged until the end. You can also be involved by hallucinations and existing reality. However, for those of you who are very fond of this kind of anime genre you can watch it. Not recommended for those of you who don’t really like the anime that has a very complicated story.

Some ‘Plot-Twist’ Will Make That Very Interesting

Okay and we’ve arrived at the 11th day. If yesterday we discuss my favorite fighter anime, today we will discuss the topic, “Favorite Mech Anime.”

I don’t really like anime mech. Just a few of the mech anime I watch like Code Geass, Aldnoah.Zero, and Date A Live. As it is, that’s just the mech anime I’m watching. When asked what my mech anime favorite is, I’ll say, “Buddy Complex.”

“Buddy Complex,” set in a school. When an ordinary student named Watase Aoba, he was suddenly targeted by a giant robot named, “Valiancer.” He was saved by his mysterious classmate Yumihara Hina. Upon revealing that she and the robot were from the future, Hina suddenly brought Aoba to 70 years ahead to prevent his death.

I really love this anime. Reading the synopsis is interesting, and want to watch it. This anime if I compare to other mech anime is very different. The plot of the story that we all wondered why, why and why. The question will be answered after seeing the last plot-twist. This anime also remember some one movie that name, Pacific Rim.

Okay, so we have to end our topic this time. It felt very short, well. But, I just don’t know want to write much less. In fact, I don’t really know much about mech anime. For our topic tomorrow, we will discuss “Saddest Anime Scene.”

Game – Spec Ops: The Line [REVIEW] – You Just Don’t Be A Hero

IGN Rating: 8/10
Genre: Third-person Shooter
Publisher: 2K Games
Developers: Yager Development, Polygon Magic, Darkside Game Studios
Platforms: PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Microsoft Windows, Linux

Third Person Shooter is a genre game that has its own impression like Resident Evil 4, Gears of Wars, Uncharted. There are is the most successful games of all time. Some competitors have started to lose his idea to bring something different. Many are stuck because of a very simple cover mechanism, thus making players not interested at the contents of the game itself. For this game, a player has a very strong first impression. Starting from a solid storyline but making adrenaline racing fast until the visualization and themes raised very explicit.

“Spec Ops: The Line” takes on a post-apocalyptic theme, where the city of Dubai got some disaster of the worst sandstorms in history. The natural disaster caused the inhabitants to seek a shelter. Reinforcements help evacuate Dubai residents flow from all around the world. The Americans also sent 33rd Battalion troops led by Colonel John Conrad to assist with the evacuation. However, this unit disappears without a news. Walker, a member of the Delta Force special forces assigned to enter the city of Dubai and look for the presence of Conrad. Together with Adams and Lugo, his mission began. However, there are some mysteries that make this mission doesn’t go smoothly. The condition of Dubai that has no authority to make armed groups appear to rule this city of Dubai. Starting from Insurgents born from the inhabitants to the CIA secret agent who somehow appeared there too.

I also just finished this game. But, I don’t know what to say for this game. Although from the side of the gameplay, actually nothing special. Like the TPS (Third Person Shooter) game, you’ll only see health and bullets. The only thing that makes this game unique is a strong enough simulation system that is more directed to the arcade. This game also provides some environmental effects that will certainly help to defeat the enemy. Like the fragile glass effect that contains tons of sand. If it broke it, it would be easy to pass each enemy. Players can also command Lugo and Adams for your own set of targets. Unlike other games, this game has an AI system that is so strong that it makes it feel comfortable to play. You can also use cover-shot, so you can flank it. Spec Ops: The Line also presents a rather difficult level of difficulty, even for normal difficulty levels.

The first impression for this game is very common. Similar to other genre games, this game presents a very ordinary gameplay. However, you will change your mind when you reach a certain plot in this game. For example, you will be prepared several options that could affect the story like the moral values and real human values. For example in one part of the story, where Walker, Lugo, and Adams are trapped in a situation where they are faced with the game being “judges” alive. You must shoot one of two people who was hanged alive by the rebels. The first person was an American soldier who executed six innocent people for no reason. Meanwhile, the second person is a corrupt who blacklist the small people, although he never killed them with his own hands. Each trip, you will find options like this throughout the game. This game also shows how the war was very brutal, even shown explicitly.

The uniqueness of this game is also one of them a very neat story. The plot presents some images of war like rebellion, violence, cruelty, and some other things. The plot also presents a plot-twist that makes the players will be made goosebumps. As an underrated TPS game, there is no need to distinguish gameplay anymore. Although this game comes as a game that has its own uniqueness, this game also still has some disadvantage. Like a very unattractive cover system, visuals, AI, and even rarely checkpoints are pretty far away.

If you are a gamer who like TPS or action, I strongly recommend playing this game. This game’s also very suitable for you who are very fond of the plot-twist story. You will feel a concept that becomes the standard for games in this genre.

Movie – Primal Fear [REVIEW] – The Altar Boy

IMDB Rating: 7,7/10
Genre: Crime, Drama, Mystery
Director: Gregory Hoblit
Writer: William Diehl
Stars: Richard Gere, Laura Linney, Edward Norton

Actually, this is the first debut film from Edward Norton. From here he is famous. This movie is also a film that reminds me of “The Usual Suspects” which is exactly same as a double plot-twist ending. For Norton, he is really worth the appreciation two thumbs for his acting on this movie. Before I review a bit about this movie, there will be a little spoiler.

Movie Poster

“Primal Fear,” tells about Martin Veil (Richard Gere) a very powerful lawyer who one day voluntarily handles the case of his client named Aaron Stampler (Edward Norton) an innocent young man and orphaned indicted for the murder of a great archbishop.

Although you rewatch over and over again, it does feel bored for me when I first watched it. Adapted from William Diehl’s novel, this film is Edward Norton’s first debut. His famous films such as American History X, Fight Club, The Incredible Hulk, and Birdman are his very popular films.

The role of Edward Norton is very cool. To portray multiple personalities, one a psychopath, and the other an innocent child. On the one hand have to talk like a stutterer and on the other hand, must talk emotionally. He also received “best supporting actor” at the 1996 Golden Globe Awards event in his first film.

Richard Gere and Laura Linney are also performing well but not very prominent. What’s interesting about this movie is also a very brilliant ending twist. The director of this film, Gregory Hoblit leads us from a very ordinary start to being in a confusing situation.

Overall, this movie is highly recommended for those of you who like about case films and plot-twist. Not worth it if the script from the beginning is so strong in the duration of 130 minutes.

Movie – The Sixth Sense [REVIEW] – Not Every Gift Is A Blessing

IMDB Rating: 8,1/10
Genre: Drama, Mystery, Thriller
Director: M. Night Shyamalan
Writer: M. Night Shyamalan
Stars: Bruce Willis, Haley Joel Osment, Toni Collette

Recently, M. Night Shyamalan has made a very popular thriller this year titled Split. But, who would have thought that “The Last Air Bender” (2010) and “After Earth” (2013) was the worst films of all time and so boring? Back to 18 years earlier, “The Sixth Sense” was the most successful thriller and plot-twist of the year.

“The Sixth Sense,” tells about Dr. Malcolm Crowe (Bruce Willis) is celebrating his success with his wife, Anna (Olivia Williams), for receiving his dedication award as a child psychology field. In the middle of the celebration, the joy of happiness only lasts a moment. A young man suddenly appeared from inside the bathroom entering through his bedroom window. The young man knew Dr. Crowe, but Dr. Crowe forgot who the boy was. Recalling who the young man was, he was a former patient. Shortly thereafter, the young man fired his pistol right at him. Crowe put him down and the young man also shot himself.

Elsewhere, Dr. Crowe also has another pediatric patient named Cole Sear (Haley Joel Osment). Cole has a closed personality, no friends, and he thinks a lot of people call him “weird”. One day, Dr. Crowe came to visit Cole’s house, which he alone shared with his mother, Lynn (Tony Collette). At first, Cole was a bit awkward with Dr. Crowe is always following him everywhere. Dr. Crowe felt obliged to help because, like the other boy he handled, Cole had a psychological problem. On the sidelines of his business he handles Cole, Dr. Crowe also took the time to visit his wife. From the frequent Cole met Dr. Crowe, making them both more familiar and open to each other. Until finally, Cole made a confession to Dr. Crowe that he often sees the dead walking like a living person, or in other words is a ghost. Does Cole see that it is really a ghost or just a phenomenon psychologically?

“The Sixth Sense” has a slow plot, but it’s still interesting to watch. The film is reminiscent of Stanley Kubrick’s movie “The Shining” which almost has the same story and psychological horror elements that look same. The main point of this film is the plot-twist that Shyamalan made. Shyamalan hopes, with the ending twist viewers feel the sensation of extraordinary after the audience made “cheated” in the ending that never before thought by the audience. If you stay focused on this movie plot, then you guys are successfully tricked by this movie. However, if you are very unfocused by the plot of this film, maybe one of you can guess the ending from the beginning of the movie.

Movie – Reservoir Dogs [REVIEW] – The Quentin Tarantino Debut

IMDB Rating: 8,3/10
Genre: Crime, Drama, Thriller
Director: Quentin Tarantino
Writer: Quentin Tarantino
Stars: Harvey Keitel, Tim Roth, Michael Madsen

Quentin Tarantino is known for a very genius-man. By introducing non-linear films that incorporate a dark-comedy, soundtrack that we often hear everywhere, violent scenes with blood everywhere, and some other things that he owns. This film is the first debut film of Quentin Tarantino and plays it also in it. Tarantino loves to present some great actors like Samuel L. Jackson and Uma Thurman.

Reservoir Dogs

“Reservoir Dogs,” tells about eight men who were breakfast while talking about the song “Like A Virgin” by Madonna. Six of the eight are unknown and have only an alias name that is Mr. White (Harvey Keitel), Mr. Orange (Tim Roth), Mr. Blonde (Michael Madsen), Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi), Mr. Blue (Eddie Bunker), and Mr. Brown (Quentin Tarantino). Two others are Joe Cabot (Lawrence Tiemey) and his son “Nice Guy” Eddie (Chris Penn). They plan to rob a diamond shop at the behest of Joe Cabot. After interspersed slow motion scene as an introduction to his character, we will begin to be invited to watch the non-linear plot of Tarantino. No scenes of robbery even audiences invited directly to see Mr. White and Mr. Orange is badly injured by being shot into a warehouse where they gather. From there the audience can find out that robberies don’t match what they are planning. After that, come Mr. Pink, who believes that one of them betrayed and leaked the robbery to the police. Then, start a scene of suspicion and anxiety between them.

Tarantino is great at putting together his story plot because he also slipped a sort of flashback that was divided into three parts: Mr. White, Mr. Blonde, and Mr. Orange. Each of them tells the background of each character and how they can join. Reservoir Dogs store many of the most memorable scenes so people can remember. One of them is the slow motion scene which is the coolest scene. Michael Madsen also performed best on this movie because some of his scenes that tortured the police were crazy.

As I said, robbery isn’t shown at all. So, the audience can only imagine what happened and how chaotic the robbery. The main highlight of this film is also a debate that occurs because of mutual suspicion. This film also is filled with many surprises that can actually be created as a debt and easy to remember.

Behind the scene of violence, this film also has elements of friendship and loyalty is very thick where the human conscience is always selfish. Even within the group, there is a conflicting dilemma. “Reservoir Dogs” is the first work of Tarantino’s debut and also as a film that makes a masterpiece entitled “Pulp Fiction”. Actually, the Tarantino movies I’ve watched so far are Pulp Fiction, Inglorious Basterds, and Kill Bill Series.

Movie – Get Out [REVIEW] – Everything Changes To Nightmare

IMDB Rating: 7,8/10
Genre: Horror, Mystery
Director: Jordan Peele
Writer: Jordan Peele
Stars: Daniel Kaluuya, Allison Williams, Bradley Whitford

This year, it is rarely to find some more thriller movies out in cinema. As recently as the movie like “Split” and one of the films “Get Out”. Maybe nowadays, the audience of thriller movies is rarely there. But, “Get Out” is a movie that amazes me for this year. This movie is a horror movie that is not too concerned with jump scare or sadism. Did you know, horror movies are often their jumpscare. Then why is this movie called horror movie and none of the jump scare elements? That is the uniqueness of this film. In fact, rating sites like “Rotten Tomatoes” rated 99% of the 224 suggestions by critics. In fact, “Rotten Tomatoes” is a very sadistic site when assessing the film. So, I will try to review this movie if you are very curious about the story!

Actually, I can refer this film as an anti-mainstream horror film like “The Shining”. “Get Out,” tells the story about a black photographer named Chris (Daniel Kaluuya) dating a white girl named Rose (Allison Williams) for 5 months. At that time, Rose invites Chris to meet his parents. Chris knew that Rose’s family was a family that was very concerned about the relationships between racism. So, Chris decides to meet Rose’s family. However, Chris’s visit didn’t match his expectations. Rather, it becomes a nightmare that he can’t deny.

“Get Out” really has a story that can not really guess. But for me as fans of thrillers and puzzles like this, I’m into it. But, for those of you who are very annoyed to watch a movie like this maybe you will be made dizzy by this film. In my opinion, this film is another light thriller. But, recall this movie is like “The Shining” which has the Horror-Psychological genre.

Jordan Peele is the director who is responsible for the success of “Get Out”. He is very genius and creative composing his story than horror movies that have jump scare or other sadistic scenes like a horror movie in general. Peele also managed to build the plot in stages. Starting from a very quiet situation until the terror that pops up little by little. As a director and comedy actor, Peele also includes a dark comedy in this movie.

The use of sound effects in this movie is also very different from the horror movie in general. If “The Conjuring” uses sound effects that make the audience more frightened, the sound effects in this movie will make the audience feel confused. One of the uniqueness of this film is also included from a very rational characterization element. As an example, most horror films are usually the protagonist will scream for fear of his ghost. But, not for this movie. The film uses a very logical characterization element as well as very realistic.

Actually, if I think twice, this film is very clearly showing the element of racism. But, fortunately, the Peele is a very genius in making the film. He seems to be trying to convey an important message to his audience. This film may be considered very successful in the world of film, especially in the world of horror movies because the story has another alternative in a horror story. It could be, for the next year will often pop up films like this. But as a thriller movie lover, I really hope a movie like this appears!
