Game – NEKOPARA Vol. 0 [REVIEW] – A Story Just Before Kashou Opened “La Soleil”

Steam Rating: 10/10
Genre: Visual novel
Developer: Neko Works
Publisher: Sekai Project

Platform: Microsoft Windows

I infrequently plays video games with a gameplay like this or more commonly known as a visual novel. NEKOPARA was one of the games that became the most phenomenal game of the year and the series that became the influence of visual novel in Steam. For now on, I will review NEKOPARA Vol. 0 which is also a fandisc of NEKOPARA Vol. 1. So before playing volume 0, it would be better if you play the volume 1 first.

“NEKOPARA Vol. 0,” tells about a young man Kashou Minaduki who has a dream to open a bakery. This is a story just before Kashou opened ‘La Soleil’. In this game, Kashou Minaduki goes through his daily life with a six catgirls. They will do various daily like a slice of life in this game.

NV0 02

Although this does seem brief, NEKOPARA Vol. 0 is a fandisc of NEKOPARA Vol. 1 who’ve played the first volume and wants to need more or not satisfied with the story in NEKOPARA Vol. 1. Although the plot seems very short, this game still presents its theme especially like sweet stuff and a fanservice for you who want to enjoy it. In NEKOPARA Vol. 0, all of the catgirls are all exist in this game such as Chocola, Vanilla, Shigure, Maple, Azuki, Coconut, and Cinnamon. For me who play the volume 0 first, I think it’s a bit rushed with the story so I don’t understand the story in this game because volume 0 is the first series I play. But despite being only temporary, this game is very good to enjoy especially with some of the fanservice it. So, I just finish this game in one day even though everyone who plays this prequel will surely be like that.

NV0 01

However, there are some important points I heard from the first volume and that is the protagonist who has many important roles in it while volume 0, he doesn’t exist. So, we are the players who act as Kashou so it might be sound like we are inside, maybe. I also don’t understand the background of all it’s characters unless I have to play the first volume first. Maybe this is indeed a little mistake so I don’t know what to write about this game. NEKOPARA is also one of the visual novels where the players just watch the game with no choices like a visual novel in general. In fact, this visual novel will take you to the one ending only. In addition, I also really like the artwork of NEKOPARA series. The artwork that presented in this game is very detailed designs along with the movements so that we as a player like to see something adorable. Every movement of its character starts from the movement of the eyes, mouth, the way the character speaks and breathes, all of that is like working smoothly in every scene.

Overall, NEKOPARA is actually a series that I haven’t finish at all. But for those of you who’ve played NEKOPARA Vol. 1, maybe this fandisc will have its own appeal even if only shortly. The price is also very cheap if you just want to see a glimpse of the story of this series. The artwork that presented I admit is very detailed and I also can’t wait to play other series from NEKOPARA. By the way, the anime has also been out on OVA and released in December 2017 on Steam.

Anime – Death Note [REVIEW] – The Hunted Becomes The Hunter!

MyAnimeList Rating: 8,68/10
Genre: Mystery, Police, Psychological, Supernatural, Thriller
Studios: Madhouse
Author: Takeshi Obata (Art), Tsugumi Ohba (Story)
Seiyuu: Kappei Yamaguchi, Mamoru Miyano, Shidou Nakamura

Death Note is a mystery and thriller anime that of course, everyone knows about this anime. Death Note has also become a pop culture such as a live-action movie that recently aired on Netflix in 2017, TV dramas, a parody on the internet, even a video games-there is. Death Note is no longer an anime that no one knows about this anime. I’ve been watched a long time ago although it’s still a bit freshly around 2 years ago. People also say that Death Note is the best mystery anime that ever existed because the manga that is written by Tsugumi Ohba and Takeshi Obata’s indeed I admit that the story is very intelligent even though using the story that proceeds ahead.

“Death Note,” tells about shinigami Ryuk (Shidou Nakamura) as the death of God who can kill anyone by looking at the victim’s face and writing his name in a book called Death Note. One day, Ryuk became bored with the shinigami world that he lived in until he wanted to be interested in what if he dropped his Death Note into the human realm. Light Yagami (Mamoru Miyano) is a high school student who thinks that this world has an unfair system and he’s the person who got the Death Note. When he tried to write a criminal in the book, he realized that Death Note is something to be proud of because it can form a new world system. Light Yagami then tries to write down all the criminal names that exist in order to create a new world where criminals are no longer exist and people will worship him as a god. The police are trying to figure out the cause of this serial murder and why only the criminals are dead. Therefore, Japanese investigators try to recall the best detective in the world named L (Kappei Yamaguchi).

Death Note 02

Initially, I’ve known a long time about this anime because some of my friends have watched this anime. I just know that Death Note is an anime that tells about a book that if you write the name of the person in the book, it will die. In short, that’s all I know about the main characters. After watching it, I just realized why many people think that this anime is a mystery anime with a story that executed a smart impression by the author. Although this anime is already a bit old and classic, I think this anime will never die. The conflict that happened between Light and L is really a revelation I can see it in this anime. This inner conflict also presents how they fight using their intelligence so that sometimes they are equally unsteady to catch each other. On the other hand, L and Light is also an archrival partner as well as anime basically. The plot of the story presented in this anime I think there is no shortage at all even though I watch it over and over, I don’t see it at all.

Death Note 01

However, I would not say that this anime will be absolutely perfect. Death Note may be able to show its mistake even if it will be seen. The shortcoming in here is when entering the climax of the story. I will try not to tell spoiler at all. There is a character that is why it just appears like that and for no reason. The background is a bit of detail to determine but I feel it’s ruining the story of this anime. In addition, the endings that are provided at the end are also a great plot-twist even making it impossible to create a second season. So for those of you who haven’t watched at all, I think you should watch it soon because this anime is a bit classic but the plot of the story that presented in here I think is like a Hollywood thriller movies in general. For the matter of the artwork, I don’t think it should be judged because although this is a classic anime, Death Note is still classified as a modern anime in general. The soundtrack on the opening, BGM that has some nuances like creepy stuff, and Mamoru Miyano who fills the voice of Light Yagami somehow he is so prevailing his character so perfectly.

Overall, Death Note can be said as an anime that so long to watch but this anime is very popular even become a pop culture in some place or circle. The plot of the story is neatly systematized and somehow so smart that we are the audience must thinking a little bit hard to be able to understand what is really happened in this anime. In the end, the plot-twist that presented was also very unexpected and really interesting to watch. Death Note is an anime that must be watched by everyone.

Game – Getting Over It With Bennett Foddy [REVIEW] – You Move The Hammer With The Mouse, And That’s All There Is

Steam Rating: 9/10
Genre: Platform game
Developer: Bennett Foddy
Engine: Unity
Publisher: Humble Bundle

Platform: iOS, Macintosh operating systems, Microsoft Windows

Getting Over It can be said as the most phenomenal game for now especially at when this game is launch, there are so many big YouTubers who play this game. However, Bennett Foddy was also known for the previous game called QWOP. For those of you who didn’t know, QWOP is a ragdoll game that can be said as the most games that make all of the players angry to be annoyed when playing this game. But not several people may know who Bennett Foddy is. His name is famous after he made the game called Getting Over It which it has the same level as QWOP but more difficult as the point of making the players feel desperate. I even play this game not to the end until I uninstall this game. After seeing some speedrun on the internet that played by some players, I immediately thought who is this person. So, it can be said that Getting Over It is the most annoying game that ever existed but became phenomenal for now.

“Getting Over It” is a game with the character of a bald man named Diogenes who is trapped inside a cauldron holding a Yosemite hammer. This hammer is used to grip objects in order to move by itself. Using the mouse, players try to move Diogenes from a narrow valley to a city that filled with a garbage.

In addition, this game has sometimes accompanied some comments by Bennett Foddy who talked several topics about philosophy. This comment also gives a quote relating to the disappointment and perseverance of players desperate when start playing this game. So, sometimes the player will feel a bit annoying with the comment so that the despair feeling will be more felt. Plus, players will get a variety of failure responses that natural players did it. Actually, the author here wants to tell all of his players that this is a game that full of challenges and tells us to try again and again. So Bennett Foddy wants to bring his players to a deeper level in order to feel what is desperate. Therefore, this game actually doesn’t mean to have a good graphics and the process of making is also simple. The challenge in here is also very different from most games that are using the accurate method along with the operating time.

This game makes the increasing difficulty as an example where players will climb the mountain, entering a narrow mountain steep, to a more slippery ground. Therefore, this game doesn’t use a checkpoint but the player can save the last location by quit the game. Even so, all of the errors and progress will be automatically saved as is. The more annoying, this game is made with a variety laws of physics that’s very unreasonable and deliberately got horrible by the author. Plus, the controls are very difficult to handle and the surface isn’t always flat so sometimes the hammer that used to grip directly fall from the edge. So for the whole, actually this game is made so lame that players can be upset when playing this game. It’s a deliberate author to keep players out of control.

Overall, Getting Over It is a phenomenal game for this time. The deliberately that made so lame but simple just to make the players more annoying when playing this game. This game is not recommended for those of you who can’t control emotions or for those of you who don’t have any patience for doing other somethings. Getting Over It is the most annoying game ever but the result when successfully completing this game can also be equivalent to the gameplay.

Movie – Dallas Buyers Club [REVIEW] – Dare To Live

IMDB Rating: 8,0/10
Genre: Biography, Drama
Director: Jean-Marc Vallée
Writer: Craig Borten
Stars: Matthew McConaugheyJennifer GarnerJared Leto

Before I start reviewing, I want to ask you a question. Why if you guys in a situation where you have an illness and be sentenced to live within 30 days? For some people will certainly think to do the things that he never did before, desperate into the corner rather than do something with the useless thing or pray to God to ask mercy. Maybe some people would think to do those things but not with Ronald Dickson ‘Ron’ Woodroof, an American who makes Dallas Buyers Club where the club provides a cure for AIDS. I still can’t believe there is someone who has a sympathy personage like Ron Woodroof and for this movie, Matthew McConaughey plays in this movie. Previously, I had watched Leonardo DiCaprio’s The Wolf Of Wall Street and I don’t know why he didn’t get an Oscar while Matthew McConaughey who was a new actor at that time was taking for a top in a Hollywood. After watching this movie, it turns out I can see how is Matthew McConaughey the real acting and Jared Leto, even these two actors get an Oscar award at the same time. Fun facts, they both are willing to lose a weight in extreme transformation. Matthew McConaughey lost his 47 pounds and Jared Leto lost his 30 pounds.

“Dallas Buyers Club,” tells about Ron Woodroof (Matthew McConaughey), a rodeo cowboy who was one day convicted HIV+. Hearing that facts, Ron then realizes that this is very ironic to himself due to the fact that he is anti-HIV and homophobic. Ron must finally accept that fact and have only 30 days left to live. Ron began to find out more about the disease as well as medics that could be used to heal or lengthen his life. On the other hand, FDA (Food and Drug Administration) approved the doctors to conduct an experiment on a medicine called AZT (Azidothymidine) that can cure AIDS. But Ron thought it was a medicine that was nothing. Ron ultimately does illegal things like getting drugs that haven’t been approved and certified safe by FDA. Together with a transsexual who is also an AIDS patient Rayon (Jared Leto), Ron makes an organization that sells drugs that haven’t been approved by FDA but more potential to cure people with AIDS. This organization is referred as ‘Dallas Buyers Club’, an organization to help people with HIV.

Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto in Dallas Buyers Club (2013)

Dallas Buyers Club is a biography and drama film that tells about how a person lives the rest of his life that will not longspun at all. However, this is not a melodrama movie that has a bad ending until drains tears about one’s life. In this movie, Ron Woodroof is someone who never gives up in his attempt to survive. Though he will eventually die of his disease, he thinks it might be better if he finds out his disease so he can help those who have the same disease with him. I’m also a little bit touched by this Ron figure. At first, he was just a racist and homophobic person. However, he was aware that they were just human beings like a normal people. So I’m here to see Ron as a person who misjudges people but when he digs it deeper, it turns out they are just ordinary human beings and it makes no difference. In addition, I initially thought that this movie would end with a story like a drama movie that has a bad ending. But, I was wrong. The story is always on the rise and the character development of Ron Woodroof and Rayon is always told slowly but seamlessly impressed. I also like the friendship stories of Ron and Rayon. At first, Ron thinks Rayon is nothing but a gay man who makes him hate. But as its story progressed, Ron gradually became sympathy for Rayon and people with HIV disease.

Jennifer Garner in Dallas Buyers Club (2013)

Matthew McConaughey and Jared Leto, both actors definitely get an Oscar award at the same time. At first, I wondered why Leonardo DiCaprio didn’t get an Oscars after his movie The Wolf Of Wall Street. But after seeing this movie, I can accept why Matthew McConaughey deserves the award. In fact, Matthew McConaughey is actually a slightly new and famous actor to frequent in Hollywood for me. But in the end, Leonardo also deserves an Oscar award after his movie called The Revenant in 2016. Back to the actors of these two, they have to do some extreme transformation in order to portray the character smoothly like someone who suffered from HIV disease. I also didn’t realize that the character of Rayon that played by Jared Leto. I just realized him after I saw the credits where there was Rayon as Jared Leto. I was immediately surprised if it was Jared Leto or not. But in the end, I can see the acting of these two and can compete with each other in this movie. They smoothly and successfully bring their character to get an Oscar award, especially Jared Leto who plays his character with a very unique.

Overall, I’m speechless about this movie. Dallas Buyers Club is definitely a biopic with a lot of uniqueness in it from actors who play the character to a deeper level, a neatly compiled story, as well as a social critique of stereotypes other than HIV or something like that. Everything is of course also thanks to Jean-Marc Vallée who directed this movie. Dallas Buyers Club is a movie that is very inspiring and must be watched by everyone who still considers himself devastated.

Manga – Crows [REVIEW] – It Is Known As Crow High

MyAnimeList Rating: 8,24/10
Genre: Action, School, Shounen
Author: Hiroshi Takahashi (Story & Art)
Serialization: Shounen Champion (Monthly)

Crows is a manga that adapted from 1990 to 1998 by Hiroshi Takahashi. For nowadays, Crows are better known for its movie as Crows Zero which tells about a high school that crowded with men who are very affectionate about fighting. I remember when Crows Zero used to be a very trending in my school while following his character style, shouting like a movie, and acting like a school thug just like in a movie. Although like that, in fact, I only see a glimpse of this movie and I’ve never been watching the full movie at all. So, many of my friends are talking about this movie in school and I can only see the scene of the fight only. At that time, everyone was talking about this movie except me who could only understand what they were saying. However, Crows is an unbeatable manga as well as Crows Zero movie. So, I want to try to review this manga.

“Crows,” tells about Harumichi Bouya, a second-year who recently transferred to Suzuran, a school full of mischievous boys. Harumichi just wanted to get himself to be number one at that school and while doing so he turned this school system into a school that would be a big influence on other schools.

Crows 01

So, Crows are actually no distinct from the live-action because this manga is also a sequel to Crows Zero manga. For those of you who don’t know, Crows Zero tells about a childlike Harumichi Bouya named Takiya Genji in the same hope as while Crows takes the story after Takiya Genji graduated from Suzuran. So, this is a prequel to the previous Crows Zero. For those of you who haven’t read the manga or watching the movie maybe you can enjoy both of them but for me actually, it has no connection at all but the background where it’s still in Suzuran. So, what exactly are this Crows? Does it contain only a bunch of unruly, mischievous people or do it have more stories to tell? Actually, Crows present a fresh story and not too impressive drama to redundant. This is a shounen manga you can enjoy. You want to see blood or a fight until fall on the ground, it’s all here. In addition, Crows also present us a comedy that can make us laugh and teach us about the neverending about friendship.

Crows 02

I might write this review a brief in here but I’ll also try to analyze it first. For the stories presented in this manga, it’s no different from other shounen manga. However, it tells about a gang fight to an epic fight that makes us tense when reading this manga. For the artwork, this manga reminds me of Great Teacher Onizuka and Slam Dunk though both have different stories but remind me of the artwork. In addition, this manga also reminds me a bit about Beelzebub that almost the whole story tells about one person who is very fond of fighting. However, Beelzebub combines several genres of supernatural. The overall artwork, this is a cult classic manga that brings us to an era where manga still has its own impression inside. The drawback in here for me that I don’t like is the ending of this manga. This kind of case is the same as Beelzebub’s adaptation of anime that is more imposing so we wonder why it’s so straightforward. I’m trying to not to tell a little spoiler in here but the characters that appear suddenly at the end of the story for somewhat reason and it just disappear so, I don’t know what’s really going on here. But, I love the whole comic.

Overall, Crows is a must read the classic manga. A shounen manga that seems just a fight but there is a little magic touch in this manga so we always read it without stopping. The artwork that seemed very classic in the era of manga 90s and teaches us what is a friendship. If you’ve read this manga, there’s a sequel called Worst even though I haven’t seen it yet.

Anime – The Saga Of Tanya The Evil [REVIEW] – Devil Of The Rhine

MyAnimeList Rating: 8,15/10
Genre: Military, Magic
Studios: NUT
Author: Shinobu Shinotsuki (Art), Carlo Zen (Story)
Seiyuu: Aoi Yuuki, Saori Hayami, Houchuu Ootsuka

Actually, we should need an anime that tells about a war or something like that because I see that this kind of genre is very infrequently known and liked by many people or maybe vice versa. The Saga Of Tanya The Evil is a most badass war anime I’ve ever seen. For a genre like this, we may be able to take an example such as Attack On Titan and Fullmetal Alchemist. However, the concept of those anime is combined with a fantasy theme so that the war theme doesn’t feel gummy like war movies or anime in general. GATE and Izetta: The Last Witch can also be the same concept with this anime. However, for a concept that feels more like the sensation of its war might be Joker Game, the one good example but it’s interpolated into a mystery genre so not everyone will love this anime as well. Maybe The Saga Of Tanya The Evil is one of the anime with its very fraternal genre or maybe some of you guys, some have different opinions.

“The Saga Of Tanya The Evil,” tells about a young soldier Tanya Degurechaff (Aoi Yuuki) is known for her predatory, frightening, clever, and serious characteristics so it’s said to be “Devil of the Rhine.” At first, she was an ordinary man who was depressed because of his work, but he later met Being X or God for not believing in God’s circumstances so as to prove that the world had gone awry. He then incarnated into a little girl in a world that filled with wars of the magic world, demanding so fast to get her promotion as someone who leads the battle. She still doesn’t believe in the existence of god and wants to prove that the empire is the most powerful nations in human history.

Youjo Senki 01

First of all, this is not something that explains about a religion or anything like that. This is just a fictional story so don’t be easy to be triggered or don’t keep this in your heart. This is an anime that for the first time, I see a very badass loli were a psychopath who likes a battlefield. I love the Tanya Degurechaff character because of her uniqueness is like a little girl who acts like an adult, supported by a seiyuu Aoi Yuuki. The voice that fills by Aoi Yuuki is somewhat I saw a character who somehow is not fit for her body size with her voice. But, I consider Aoi Yuuki is a seiyuu who has tried to fill out the voice of Tanya Degurechaff’s character because she is the right one. In addition, she very hates and doesn’t believe in god existence even calling him Being X that’s also very interesting. For a character that has a crazy strength in her, I don’t know what I want to say about this character but this is the most badass things ever. Some people will say why there are just such anime, very unsuitable, or whatever. But, I’m enjoying this anime.

Youjo Senki 02

The story that’s developed in here is also very unique, telling about a world war combined with a magic. So, I sometimes think what is this? Why the technology in that year was so sophisticated, the dogfight of humans flying in the air, even a barrier and technology that almost resembled the power of a bomb. But, herein lies the uniqueness of this anime, combining a world war theme in its day and combining an unimaginable magic technology. The animation that presented I think that this is just a mediocre stuff. The characters that are designed seem to have an exaggerated body shape like the shape of its mouth on some characters. However, it will not spoil the total anime. In my opinion, NUT studio is very distinct to the presence of anime like this. They are as good as creating the animation design as simple as possible so that the existing background looks ordinary but the coloring and line on the artwork feel solid. However, the impression that built in here will never be lost when you are watching this anime. By the way, the ending of this anime is also very dangling but the good news is, this anime will be made the sequel to a movie. I’m grateful for anime like this made the sequel so I can enjoy it again.

Overall, we actually need anime like this, telling the story of an edgewise world war and animation that some people may feel unique. The story that developed in here also greatly improves along with the development of the story and the character of Tanya Degurechaff is the most badass loli I’ve ever seen. Combining a military with a magic theme is something I will never see before even though GATE is also an anime that similar to this. Even so, that anime is not as hype as this anime although I like it too. In the end, there is some pleasure when you watch this anime.

Manhwa – Girls Of The Wild’s [REVIEW] – Learning To Fight And Stand Up For Himself!

MyAnimeList Rating: 7,79/10
Genre: Action, Comedy, Drama, Martial Arts, Romance, School, Harem
Author: Hye-Jin Kim (Art), Hun (Story)
Serialization: Naver Webtoon

I remember once when I first read this manhwa because from its artwork that so detailed and colorful to the innate story that is very emotional and has a moral message in every scene in it. But that is just my first impression of this manhwa when approached into climax. I was immediately shocked by the storytelling that changed so dramatically that I didn’t want to read it even though there was a bit of interest as well. I wondered with the author himself why he wanted to finish this comic with a climax that was so destroying the whole story. This case is the same as Usagi Drop manga and I remember right away so this is the feeling when your favorite comic has just ended with an unsatisfactory ending.

“Girls Of The Wild’s,” tells about Wild’s High school which is an elite school devoted to women. This school has a uniqueness where women must fight in arena martial arts classifying from boxing, sword-fighting, taekwondo, and other martial arts. They had to fight even though it was brutal and sometimes there are even died. After 42 years of this school was built, this school just opened for men and the first person who enters this school is Song Jae Gu. He got a three-year scholarship without paying any attention to his value and without thinking, he accepted it. For the past two years, he has been living with his twin younger siblings. But after meeting Queen, the bloody champion of the Wild’s League, Song Jae Gu unconsciously calls her “monster” because he is disturbed by her existence. However, In Gyi Yoon is just an ordinary girl like a normal schoolgirl. Jae Gu will endure his daily life during his school days, surrounded by many beautiful and painful girls and learn to fight in order to preserve him.

Actually, this comic has a slightly good impression in the beginning. We will be introduced to the characters in this comic and the introduction of its character is also so unique, even told with its background as well. Song Jae Gu is the protagonist of this manhwa. He is just an ordinary man who doesn’t have a luxurious life, always bully in the past, and have a simple life with his two younger siblings. However, he learns a lot when meeting Dal Dal Choi who has sweet lips, Moon Young Lee who is a bit tomboy but very good at boxing, and In Gyi Yoon, the queen of Wild’s school but she is just an ordinary girl who likes Jae Gu. All of the characters itself are introduced to the background and the way of recognition is also unique, the writing of its story as well until the artwork is really detailed and so colorful. So, it’s like a harem comic but a manhwa version. I also like the harem in here because it doesn’t contain ecchi or sexuality stuff that encourages many men to enjoy it. On the basis of it, the romance in here is a romance to a drama that’s so cliche.

However, I’m only surprised by this author who has changed the element a little bit too. At first, this manhwa is an action comic that is so stunning and draws some adrenaline to be enjoyed. Maybe because I also read this manhwa in Webtoon and I know very well how bad the comment section in Webtoon especially in Indonesia. In the end, the unique element of this comic disappears after its genre only focuses on its drama instead of this is an action. The romance story in here is also like a manga or anime Nisekoi that divide the two side of the readers of this comic. In the end, the best impression I got in this comic turned worse until I didn’t want to read it even though I had to. However, I like the parts of some scenes that show a person’s life to teach us to always appreciate life. Like Jae Gu who has a simple life. He’s just someone in general until his lucky time, he meets all three of this main heroine that changes his life, tells how the real meaning of life and always helps Jae Gu while in despair. In addition, there are much more than Jae Gu’s life such as In Gyi Yoon who has a comfortable life but he doesn’t want her life established by her family. She just wants to have something simpler than a wealth that will make her happy when it’s not.

The art in this comic is fantastic. Hye-Jin Kim is taking part in the artwork somehow she drawing the character in full of details in it, every scene, and all of the parts. The action is also so cliché like the ordinary manga as well but the unique part is told as the story of the martial arts itself. So, the action here is also so logical that the intrinsic story is also simple. For the part of the drama as I said before, sometimes and somehow make us so touched even cried when reading this comic and that for some people because this manhwa is also preferred by some women. So, there are also many shortcomings in this comic although there are so many unique characters here both protagonist, antagonist, and supporting characters. For the whole total other than the shortcomings, I assume there’s nothing wrong to read this comic although I’m also a bit sorry for this.

Overall, Girls of the Wild’s is an action comic to romance drama that can also be enjoyed by every reader whether it’s male or female because on the other side sometimes this comic is dominated by women. The character of the story so developed at the beginning of the character, the introduction of such a unique character to the background is explained in detail, the artwork that drawn in such detail makes the eyes like to see it again, and the moral message that we get as you read this comic. Apart from that, there are also many shortcomings in this comic but you can enjoy it if you let it go.

Movie – Blade Runner 2049 [REVIEW] – The Key To The Future Is Finally Unearthed

IMDB Rating: 8,3/10
Genre: Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi
Director: Denis Villeneuve
Writer: Philip K. Dick
Stars: Harrison FordRyan GoslingAna de Armas

This is a movie that I want, a movie that shows the masterpiece with its beauty cinematographic and a visual effect that is not always unwarranted. Although this movie is not directed by Ridley Scott anymore, I just wonder about Denis Villeneuve why he can be such a genius person to make this masterpiece from a sequel of a masterpiece as well. Of course in this sequel, it still brings some elements of a city of in Los Angeles that is so bleak with the amount of pollution, smoke, filth everywhere, and all sorts of that things. And also, this movie is still cast the main actor of the prequel Harrison Ford and the sequel starring Ryan Gosling. If you haven’t watched this prequel or the movie yet, you should watch it right now because you will never see a movie as good as Blade Runner.

“Blade Runner 2049,” tells about 30 years after the incident in the first movie. Set in 2049 in the same city, a new blade runner named ‘K’ (Ryan Gosling) investigated a dark past of what had happened for 30 years. ‘K’ then finds a clue where he will run a mission to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former blade runner who has disappeared for 30 years.

Ryan Gosling and Ana de Armas in Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

Blade Runner 2049 is a sci-fi movie that still brings some elements from its first series such as the philosophy and the existence of the story of both movies. The urban atmosphere in this movie still portrays a gloomy atmosphere of dark, cold and dirty until people still regard the replicant as a threat to humankind. Although not directed by Ridley Scott again, I’m grateful that Denis Villeneuve very understood the first film so well that we still feel the sensations that are accurate in the first movie. Denis Villeneuve is known for his films such as Arrival, Sicario, Enemy, Prisoners, and others. His films also somehow have a uniqueness that’s different from the others. For the second series of Blade Runner, this movie is a bit lost its thrilling nuance. It’s not the same as the first movie that makes the all of the audience very confused so don’t want to watch for the second time anymore. I can say that this is a movie that will change some prospective filmmakers. Its beauty is so satisfying, its cinematography, and all of such things. There will be no more movies like this at the end of 2017 even for the future, it will be very rare to find movies like this.

Ryan Gosling in Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

For the second series of Blade Runner, Ryan Gosling is the main actor of this movie. I can’t get rid of his figure after watching La La Land from romance to a serious movie. The character that played by Ryan Gosling is a character who makes a pity for him. ‘K’ is someone who has to learn a variety of emotions especially in uncovering a mystery to find who exactly he is. This character is like someone who doesn’t care about people around him because he’s considered a replicant by humans in that city. Therefore, ‘K’ always accompany him with an AI Joi. For the performance of Ryan Gosling somewhat it’s interesting to watch if this movie is a thriller, it may be difficult to get used to. Harrison Ford who played as Rick Deckard also has a performed satisfactorily despite his age of inadequacy, he was still able to do even with many physical action scenes. What I like about this sequel is the movie approximately described in detail while the first movie it’s so difficult to understand. The opening scene is also an actor from one of the WWE wrestlers, Dave Bautista a.k.a Batista who played Sapper Morton even though his role here is so short. Jared Leto who played as Niander Wallace is also very good here but for some reason, this character always appears and disappears just like that but he will be the main point of the plot-twist in the story.

Harrison Ford in Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

Just like the first series, Blade Runner 2049 will make you bored with this movie and the duration is also almost three hours. So, this movie isn’t for everyone. Although like that, this movie is more alive than the first series for me. I don’t know why but it’s certain that many people will not feel satisfied when watching this movie in the cinema. But, I just wonder the nuance of the noir that feels lost little by little although there are still one. But, this movie relies more on the plot-twist at the end of the movie although the plot-twist is not too elegant, this will be the core of the main story after you wonder if Rick Deckard is a replicant or a human being. The lack here is that there are so many scenes, dialogues, and angle camera that I find less important to watch so we can’t remember all the important dialogues because they are forgotten by these unimportant elements. But I admit it with its cinematography and visual effects that are so beautifully built for sci-fi movies like this. It’s so full of emotion, the story that keeps developing and it explained slowly but surely so it will make any sense to answer the questions of you big fans of Blade Runner.

Overall, I suggest now for those who haven’t watched the Blade Runner franchise, you should watch it now. No movies are as beautiful as Blade Runner. I’m speechless about this movie and I don’t know what I want to say. The cinematography from Denis Villeneuve and the visual effects that so satisfy the eyes of the audience so that we sometimes don’t feel bored with its beauty of the world from the dark side. Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford are actors who show their performance with the utmost, a fully emotionally constructed character, and a plot-twist that you can’t imagine.

Movie – Blade Runner [REVIEW] – Man Has Made His Match… Now It’s His Problem

IMDB Rating: 8,2/10
Genre: Sci-Fi, Thriller
Director: Ridley Scott
Writer: Philip K. Dick
Stars: Harrison FordRutger HauerSean Young

Blade Runner is a sci-fi thriller that can be said to be a total failure in income and criticism are very diverse in that year. But why is this movie so much thrilling while there are many negative responses in that year? What makes it so good that the sequel is made? Yeah, I also don’t know why if this movie made a pop culture like an anime version of it, even considered as the best dystopian movie ever. However, this movie is the same as 2001: A Space Odyssey for myself because watching this movie for the first time will certainly be a very boring impression. Watched for the second time leave a lot of answers and watch for the third time, you’ll realize that this is a masterpiece. Especially if the director of this movie is Ridley Scott who also directed Alien, The Martian, and Gladiator. Plus starring Harrison Ford or better known as Han Solo in Star Wars franchise or Indy in Indiana Jones franchise.

“Blade Runner,” set in place in 2019 in the future. Tyrell Corporation is a company responsible for creating replicants, an android that has the same artificial AI technology as humans. Replicants are created to work in colonies outside the earth. Therefore, a rule for replicants is strictly forbidden to enter the earth and they must be killed by a Blade Runner if they break the rule. One day, four replicants made it to Earth and Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford) was a Blade Runner who was assigned to hunt down all the four replicants.

Rutger Hauer in Blade Runner (1982)

Before I start reviewing, I want to make a statement. Remember when I reviewed 2001: A Space Odyssey that misrepresenting the future? This movie has a similar thing and strangely too, the movie seemed boring for the first time for myself. So this way, it’s 2018 and one year the atmosphere described in Blade Runner will be just like the movie. I mean, this is 2018 and may not necessarily resemble a futuristic city atmosphere in Blade Runner. What I mean here is flying cars, races that are connected in outer space, and humans who can already create android very similar to humans, have feelings, and also have emotions. However, I consider this movie to be the most unique sci-fi movie ever seen since it was produced in the 80s. I also wonder why this movie is so difficult to taken by people in that year too. I give an applause for Ridley Scott who makes this beautiful sci-fi movie. I mean, I recognize his greatness because when compared to sci-fi movies nowadays, I think Blade Runner is the best. People said it makes no sense because maybe those who haven’t watched or didn’t understand the movie.

Harrison Ford in Blade Runner (1982)

These futuristic Los Angeles cities remind me of Len Wiseman’s Total Recall movie, starring Colin Farrell. The atmosphere portrayed from both movies is very similar. A city is depicted so drearily, narrow, damp, and so dirty. Therefore, there are so many movies that represent futuristic but bleak atmosphere thanks to this Ridley Scott movie. What I love about this movie is that Ridley Scott incorporates a classic noir movie element but a futuristic scene with a soundtrack that is perfect to completely describe the atmosphere of this bleak city. In addition to Total Recall, Blade Runner also reminds me of one of the anime Psycho-Pass. But the similarity may be only in terms of the story, where humans are subservient to technology that has vanquished the human brain. And another one, this movie is a thriller with the noir genre so you will not get action scenes everywhere. I myself love this movie like this but I’m surprised this movie is very unconventional from other thriller movies.

Joanna Cassidy in Blade Runner (1982)

Although Blade Runner is a movie with a continuous plot, this movie will tend to be difficult to understand and follow the story because this movie goes with a story that’s so slow with boring characters. The dialogue also sometimes feels brief but from here the audience will understand it. However, the concept of the story built in here is very appealing to this world where humans are more human impressed but lost for killing the replicants. The man who thinks that a replicant is a rebel or something, I see it’s mere nonsense because of the fact that man is the cruelest here. In fact, replicants that are considered dead still have hearts and emotions to understand humans. I also like the last monologue spoken by Roy Batty played by Rutger Hauer. Maybe this includes a small spoiler but the quote that he said was somehow very meaningful with the improvisation of the actor itself. I was immediately touched in this scene as well.

Overall, Blade Runner is a movie that can be seen from anywhere because the movie seems ambiguous and has different perceptions of each person. The sci-fi, thriller, with neo-noir elements, all combined into one with a pretty futuristic city effect. I also want to watch the sequel starring Ryan Gosling. However, I can’t speak with this movie because Ridley Scott managed to make all the audience feel ambiguous to be confused about the beauty of this masterpiece.

Movie – The Disaster Artist [REVIEW] – Meets The Weird And Mysterious, Tommy Wiseau

IMDB Rating: 7,9/10
Genre: Biography, Comedy, Drama
Director: James Franco
Writer: Scott Neustadter
Stars: James FrancoDave FrancoAri Graynor

All of you may know The Room, a drama movie that’s said to be the best worst movie ever and is said to be a bad version of Citizen Kane. The Room is one of the worst film ever made in Hollywood history and somehow, people are always watching it repeatedly over and over again and people are considered enjoy and exciting to watch. Honestly, I also don’t know how many times I watch The Room. Maybe, five or six times. It’s like, you smell a bad taste in your foods but you still smell it again even though you know the smell is rotten. However, I’m not here to review The Room but I will review The Disaster Artist the biography of Tommy Wiseau, starring James Franco and Dave Franco.

“The Disaster Artist,” tells about behind the screening of The Room. When Greg Sestero (Dave Franco) who aspires to become a famous actor, he met Tommy Wiseau (James Franco) in acting class. They both then establish a unique friendship and headed to Hollywood to achieve their dreams. Tommy thinks that Greg is someone who admired him and Greg thinks Tommy is a person he always trusts for himself. After traveling to Hollywood, they always don’t get a job in acting. Finally, Tommy decided to write and direct his own movie, rent a studio, and make movie sets. Initially, Greg was so excited because his dream finally came true. However, seeing Tommy’s directing ability starts from bad, gets worse, and worse.

James Franco in The Disaster Artist (2017)

The Disaster Artist is a biography movie behind the worst filmmaking, The Room. In spite of all, the overall totals are not all the making of The Room is told but this is a bromance and friendship story between Tommy Wiseau and Greg Sestero. Behind the filming of The Room, I’m actually a little touched by the story of their friendship and the story of Tommy Wiseau who was originally mocked by people until being a unique and famous person in Hollywood. In The Disaster Artist, we will be shown the making of important moments in The Room such as Tommy Wiseau quotes like “I did not hit her,” “What a story mark,” “Oh, hi Mark,” and “You’re tearing me apart, Lisa.” We all know behind the memorable scenes in The Room, which turns out to be an initial story like Tommy Wiseau inspired by James Dean’s quote, “You’re tearing me apart,” and sometimes acting like a ridiculous version of Marlon Brando.

James Franco and Dave Franco in The Disaster Artist (2017)

Behind of all, the movie is absolutely has no boring impression both The Room and The Disaster Artist. I will give an example, what is your favorite movie and does your favorite movie you watch every time or only once? Honestly, there are so many movies I like but sometimes I think I only watch them once. Unlike The Room, a movie that’s said to be the worst movie of the worst we always watching over and over again and no boring impression at all. Although like that, this movie is only focused on the important moments of the movie The Room. Maybe I’m a bit selfish and it’s just a biopic with comedy in it, but maybe it could be added to its duration with a few small moments so it feels detailed inside. But, I really don’t care and I enjoy it too. What I appreciate about this movie is the figure of Tommy Wiseau, the worst actor who created a masterpiece and will never be forgotten, never listen to people’s insults, and always be himself. Same it with Greg Sestero, a figure who always support Tommy despite some conflicts they live.

Overall, The Disaster Artist is a biopic that introduces a masterpiece behind the scenes. There are no people like Tommy Wiseau, thinking of his dream and never hearing other people’s insults, always coming forward, and the proof of him is becoming as successful as it’s now. A bad version of Citizen Kane that we always watch over and over again and teach us what is a friend and support each other. James Franco also arose his accent that looks like Tommy Wiseau and sometimes I laugh when he talks.
